Whatever name MS called its new OS, it's still a piece of crap. They think they can bully it's way into tablets by making desktop OS touch screen friendly. The fact is, it forces users to switch away from MS.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I heard that someone in Germany thought that it's because the word nine (spelled: nein) means no in the German language.

In other words:
Windows: No

No signature ad here, because their conditions have become annoying.

The reason is that Windows 9 was too similar to Windows 95, i.e Windows 95 and this would break a lot of code out there, so they switched to Windows 10.

It's a pretty silly reason if you ask me.

Probably. But Microsoft said W10 will be the last major release, they will now update Windows with incremental updates, 10.1,2,3 and so forth for probably quite a few years.

If this keeps to the pattern then it should be cool. Microsoft releases crap OS and then the next one is pretty cool. So since windows 8 was a disappointment this one should be ok.

I went from XP right to 8. Then I upgraded to 8.1

I actually like Windows 8/8.1, but seem to be in the minority because I never had Windows 7

I am still selling, please email me here: BitCoinTalk@dab.33mail.com

As somebody who is currently dealing with a technical problem created specifically by Microsoft, this makes me angry.

What? It's definitely alot better than Windows 7, and you can't even compare it to something as outdated as XP.

I don't think we should judge it based off of its name.  What was the rationale behind skipping 9 though?

Because technically it's the right version number.

Windows 1 = Version 1
Windows 2 = Version 2
Windows 3 = Version 3
Windows 95 = Version 4
Windows 98 = Version 5
(skip ME and 2000 - they're patch versions essentially)
Windows XP = Version 6
Windows Vista = Version 7
Windows 7 = Version 8
Windows 8 = Version 9
Windows 10 = Version 10

Whoever named Windows 7 fucked up... it should have been 8.

Done with this forum. Goodbye all.
