As the Chief of Crypto Police I have been monitoring this case for some time. I have irrefutable evidence and will proceed with it in time.

although you might consider this funny, Edward may be liable for tens of thousands of dollars in damages.
an experienced journalist would be well aware of the risks one takes in producing slander such as this.
if it's shown he took payment from someone on the NXT project this also indicates a total lack of journalistic integrity(I assumed that anyway).

firstly some positive support
cryptopaths is a 17yo student, not a cop.. so if he asks you privately for funds to investigate. dont pay him (yes he is known by many)

now then
1. words wrote down is libel.. not slander
2. unless everyone in your family, real life friendships, work colleagues know you as "bluemeanie1" there is no libel
3. if people in the real world did know you as "bluemeanie1" and that actions of media have caused some ACTUAL LOSS OR HARM to your REAL LIFE. meaning you have got sacked, or a girlfriend left you or you sustained real life injury or financial lose.. provably, there is no libel

p.S please take your teenage drama to the scam accusations thread as your drama is getting more laughable, than factual

Excuse me but this is no teenage drama, I am no teenager.  Im a software professional.

They are attacking me under my real name, repeatedly.  What they don't understand is what they feel is going to be an effective way to silence a critic, is going to invite possibly fatal legal issues on just about everyone involved.  There are many known names working in this project doing questionably legal things.  Jl777 is, personality wise, a complete psychopath- is mostly disliked by people inside NXT, however they dont take action against him.  He incentives people to do his dirty work by distributing either NXT itself or shares in his ponzi assets.  These people typically have a dim understanding of the law and what risks theyre taking by acting out their various employment agreements, which range from social media promotion to online harassment.

To be completely clear with you, this whole experience taught me a lot about what this 'cryptocurrency' movement is really all about.  In many ways NXT is similar to Bitcoin, they imitate and attempt to apply some of the things Bitcoin did in the early years.  The problem is that NXT has no where near the level of brainpower so the faults show through, and some of these faults the bitcoin community shares.  There seems to be a breed of person who thinks these kinds of activities are justified ethically, even though their ethos is vague and poorly defined.  Many of these people are even vaguely aware of what the law actually IS.  Ross Ulbricht was this sort of person, he actually BELIEVED what he was doing was justified.  Im sure there are many on here who share that opinion(usually anonymously).

These projects pose a very serious danger to regular people because in a situation of anonymous cash payments, it's possible to incentivize people's behavior in ways that are untraceable.  This could result in absolutely horrific things like the Ross Ulbricht's supposed assassination attempt.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Excuse me but this is no teenage drama, I am no teenager.  Im a software professional.

for a proper libel case to proceed you need to prove that you have in the reality of the real world. lost out.

from what i have read you have received millions of altcoins. so financially your in profit.
from what i have read you have suffered no physical injury
have you had anyone approach you at your house due to the news article
has (without you highlighting it to people you know) have anyone in your real life thought negatively about you due to your drama
has your car been reposessed
has a lien been put on any of your property
has colleague or real life work partners prevented you from doing things due to this drama
has your spouse/wife/girlfriend left you

if not then its not affected your real life.

i am all for you calling out NXT as a scam, infact i wouldnt touch it with a barge pole as i seen signs of scammy behavior myself with them lot. but atleast try being rational with your pokes and prods with them, as many reading this and probably even those scammers at nxt. are just laughing at you not with you.

your not doing yourself any favors and your just digging a deeper hole for yourself but getting to emotional about it.

feel free to highlight to the world proof of their scams,  but atleast be rational

NXT is done... what super net ICO?

I don't see it as a coincidence that these attacks ramped up when NXT hit the 0.02 range.

This was after Jeff Garzik proved that the NXT software(which has a special built-in downloader) image did not match the source code.

Boring.

BlueMeanie has some demons on his shoulders...

He can literally see them when his seroquel scrip runs out.

BlueMeanie, you know nothing about the law, period. None of the threats you are making will ever be followed through on because your legal justification for doing so is extremely flawed.

However, I do hope that the NXT team puts a bounty on your head to recover the NXT you stole from them.

Seriously people, type BlueMeanie + Josh Zeidner + NXT into Google and tell me what comes up. Tell me that this guy isn't a complete whackjob.

Your buddy Jeff Garzik has already proven his opinion on NXT to be 100% meaningless. He is just an angry hater. Probably recently got dumped by the only girlfriend he's ever had or something.

i want to see what is going to happen here , this is by far one of the most unusual threads i have seen in a while on alt coins (and not even in that section !!))

heard plenty of rumors ; nobody knows......(well I don' have any useful info and even if I did I tend to respect peoples privacy so I would not divulge anyone for some btc)  still if a 'dishonest' project is 'running' it should not be.....

quite a while ago i asked for the source of nxt on one of their threads to 'study' out of genuine curiosity / I never got to review it much more than a few hours though since I was busy with other things.   I may go back now and review it if JG says it does not match what is released.
From studying work of him and others with his experience level on github and other places I have learned many things.

I will step back out of the way now and be keeping an eye out.

Very curious where this is headed.

I may go back now and review it if JG says it does not match what is released.

What J. Garzik did was pretty simple.  He basically took the distributed executable and the compiled the source code himself and hashed the two and they did not match.  This shows that the distribution was meant to APPEAR to match the source, but did not, and given that it could be literally ANYTHING[1].  Note also that there have been many many so called 'wallet hacking' incidents where people's balance had been totally stolen.  You really have NO guarantee as to what you are running.  His claims not only discredited NXT, it suggested exactly what I had been saying for a long time- that NXT is a fairly sophisticated criminal operation.  Garzik was also targeted with anonymous harassment attempts.  Anyone who has ever made these suggestions has been repeatedly harassed, note that most of the primary project members are 100% anonymous.

Just to put some things in perspective for you, almost 1 million USD worth of crypto literally disappeared in a series of so called hacking attempts.  Soon after one, the forum system administrator resigned.  There were indicators that the entire thing was planned.  Now hold that number in your head for moment and now consider that these constant accusations, even if you so choose to accept them, amount, in it's most severe case- to a dispute of roughly 20k USD.  This is the subject matter this reporter Edward DeLeon Hickman chose to focus on.  The incident happened roughly 4 months ago and their accusations have been aired, and responded to, many many times(perhaps not to their satisfaction).

[1] NXT also has a highly specialized updater feature that would indicate some sophisticated level of planning in this department.

More recently NXT had paid people to come after Jeff Garzik after he exposed the fact that the NXT software distribution did not match the source code.

nobody was paid, here is the response, Jeff exposed nothing, he was wrong, didn't know how to decompile binaries:
Quote
Gitian was created by Bitcoin devs to provide a deterministic way to build Bitcoin core software. The software is written in C++ which is compiled into assembly code and can't be easily reverted back into the source. Usage of Gitian requires a user to put trust into parties that verify source code, but this is a wrong way from my point of view (and PoV of suspect #1 on the role of Satoshi Nakamoto - http://nakamotoinstitute.org/trusted-third-parties/, - btw). A much better way is to use languages/technologies that preserve 100% of "open-sourceness" of the code. It's Java, C#, JavaScript to name a few. Programs written in these languages can be translated back into the source code (if obfuscation is not used).

Jeff says that "bytecode implants [into Java binaries] are trivial" but can't explain how it's even possible in real-world scenario. All that I got on my direct answer is a reply that looks as an attempt to derail the conversation. This is sad, Jeff, public figures like you shouldn't behave this way.

Regarding "users do /not/ build the binaries" (https://twitter.com/jgarzik/status/511868652648288256), check the archive, it contains the complete source code with the libraries and the building script. Those who trust Jean-Luc (lead Nxt dev) need just to check the hash of the archive. The binaries used by them can be easily decompiled should a question related to the original source code arise. Those who don't trust can build the binaries by themselves.

---

It's my understanding that Jl777 paid Edward DeLeon Hickman to write this article.
Nobody paid Edward DeLeon Hickman to write this article.

---

and jl777? he even doesn't know Java, while Nxt is based on Java. James is working on some projects built on top of Nxt, but James was never involved in Nxt core itself.

just to clarify to the readers here, salsacz is a Czech NXT 'regular'.  He never came across to me as what I would call an 'insider'.  He is commonly ridiculed as inept and lame in various ways.  David aka 'Uniqueorn'[1] utterly despises this person.  He does commonly vouch and promote NXT and as far as I know he is also 100% anonymous.

[1] David is yet another long story.  This is a person who resides in Norway and commonly claims he has some kind of special relationship with Patrick Byrne - but can't discuss it because he signed NDAs.  He is also involved in the dubious 'NXTHaus' project.

To state one more time, I am in touch with the authorities and legal council concerning these ongoing threats and accusations.

I have been advised that the author of that article Edward DeLeon Hickman may be liable for defamation damages.

Other details concerning these accusations are present throughout this thread, and in countless threads, responses, emails over the past 4 months.  I simply will not tolerate these constant harassment attempts.

Joshua,....you're becoming a hilarious lunatic now.
Whats your following theory, did NXT assassinate Kennedy ?

Just going thru a random selection of stuff here:

U recieved 1 million NXT for work on one of jl777 projects, you then realised that you couldn't actually code and ran away with the megaNXT, while screaming that NXT was a scam and a massive conspiracy. Fair enough.....it's your life, but your actions cost a lot of people their investment in the project, which jl777 compensated out of his own pocket. You've never compensated any of the investors from your 1 million NXT, have you?

The Jeff G. related accusations are completely bonkers.....even Jeff never claimed that NXT has "a secret back door", though he did have some valid criicisms of NXT software development policy, tbh.

U continually refer to some mythical scam of 1 million USD on the NXT forums.....but this never happened.
Could you actually explain what event you are referring to?

"I simply will not tolerate these constant harassment attempts."
Well, why don't you try behaving like a reasonable human being, stop attacking NXT at every opportunity and return your stolen funds, then we'll stop posting the truth about you.

Great article, btw:
