Hello, I am pretty new to the world of bitcoin and I understand how it works and how just using my regular old gaming PC isn't going to get me anywhere in mining. But I came here to ask what are some great ways to get started mining bitcoins seriously? Electricity bill isn't a problem for me. I heard that there are these computers you can buy called miners and was also wondering if they are any good and if they are what is a good one to get? Thanks!

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

Basically you will not ROI on most anything so don't spend more than you are willing to burn in the street.
before buying ANYTHING check these out (sha1024 and sha256):

If you have free/very cheap electricity, you can mine with  ati radeon cards (4/5 cards for 1 motherboard). Or you can just buy a miner....
If you pay electricity, you'lla never ROI.

If you have free electricity, I can give you some suggestion, and also sell a fully functional scrypt miner if u're interested.

A little OT: it's really sad, for btc future, that home mining is no more affordable. The net is becoming really too much centralized nowdays. ..

Just about anyone can sell you some used miners if you want, but home mining is not very profitable unless you have a very low Kw/h rate. I still have miners at home but these are more for tinkering with than getting a return.

Cloud mining with zencloud (GAW), ltcgear, hashei, Genesis-mining good options. there are a lot more.

If you really want to buy hardware there is a lot for sale, but just be careful and use escrow or you could get ripped off.

Edit:
I take it back, stay away from Zen (GAW), its turning into a nightmare.

You could still buy GAW, only I wouldn't suggest buying the ZenHashlet. MultiHashlet is currently outperforming all other hashlets, that's all I have, and I managed to pick some up on their inhouse peer to peer store for $6.2/mh Cheesy Currently I'm not in very much at all, only about $80 lol, and waiting for difficulty change, time, and maintenance fees as well as seeing the general direction of the company before putting in anything that I can't afford to lose.

When you say electricity bill isn't a problem, your landlord pay for you?

No need to buy any mining hardware or any type of devices. If you have some bitcoins, purchase some hashing power on hashprofit like 1000 khs and you can earn 0.0016 / day . And your Initial investment will be recovered within 4-6 months . I have tried hashprofit myself. They are providing daily payouts. Everytime you reach minimum payout threshold, the amount in ur account balance is forwarded to your bitcoin wallet within 24 hours. No delay.

I had "student" apartment before where electricity could only be 25 dollars extra.  He could have something like that.

Look into asics and do ROI math.  If you have cheap electricity, space, you might be lucky where you can run hardware at home.  If not there is hosting/cloud.  Always do research beforehand.

1) Just mine as a hobby

2) These computers are Asic.. which means Application specific integrated circuit.. which means it was designed and created to only mine Bitcoins.

3) Go on kijiji and Buy an Ant Miner S1, they are going for dirt cheap right now.  You shouldn't spend more than $80 for one and should be able to get one for $50.

The thing about cheap or free electricity is someone has to pay that bill.  Whether it's you, or the landlord, or it comes included with rent/tuition, if it exceeds a certain amount, it will find a way back to you.

Make sure you know the terms and conditions of your free/cheap electricity costs and what the limits are.
