Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Ahhhh "HODL!" and "Cheap coins!", the official bitcoin cheerleaders mantra. I expect a slide all the way back to $100 barring some real world financial disaster that the pumpers can cash in on.

What if... I told you that... you need to sell 5000BTC to get the price to 341 and only need to buy 5000 BTC to push it abovce 405?

At some point the person(s) who unloaded tens of thousands of coins to get us down to this price is/are going to start buying again. Then the greater than 11,000 open short contracts will be closed adding another 11,000 coin purchases in a short space of time. Epic will be too small a word, eventually.. Smiley

And I won't. I invested in Bitcoin at $500 and am down $150 per bitcoin already.
Looks like some whale is manipulating the market and selling over a 1000 btc each day on bitdump.

Buy bitcoin they said, it will be fun they said....

Edited by Tzupy for being insensitive towards people's loss, you have my apologies. Removed a NFSW cartoon.

About what to do next, it depends on the next market move. Right now it's oversold, so a rebound is almost certain.
The issue is how will this rebound look? Will it be strong and long enough to reverse the trend?
If so, then holding is the best strategy, since price could recover to 500$ soon and slowly continue upwards.
But if the rebound won't look as being part of the new uptrend, then the worst is to come before the new uptrend.
In such a case, the best strategy would be to sell close to the peak of this rebound and buy back later and lower.

Sometimes, if it looks too bullish, it's actually bearish

We have never broken a previous all time high.

This is the time to be greedy.

The exponential trend line following the low points of the capitulations of the bubble to $266 keeps us just above this value, at around $300. The linear trend line, otherwise, built on the same two points sees support at around $200. Bitcoin bubbles in the past have retraced 80%-90% of their high value. This points more towards $200 than it does higher. Which precedent do you trust more?

How many coins does this person/s have to dump? As a single person, group (or *tinfoil* "consortium"), there aren't too many candidates with that many coins. Perhaps they are the gox coins and the troll accounts here exist to create the momentum to continue the 'miners selling' slide? But, logic suggests that anyone trying to dump and not buy back in (as troll accounts spout) would want the price as high as possible. FFS, i dont know, its despair.
