Well, not really, but it would be cool, right?

For those that watch the TDF you're familiar with the fans that line up along the road on the mountain stages cheering the riders. Often companies have their mascot on the side of the road too for some free publicity. How cool would it be to see a guy/gal dressed up in a big yellow BTC waving his hands or running along side the yellow jersey rider?

We should start a movement to get the BTC symbol and other witty quips on camera at various sporting events. The more people see it the more people may be intrigued or interested in adoption, no?

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I think there are a few sponsorshops  related to BTC coming up. BAPCO have signed on as gold sponsors of the Bahrain International Futures Tennis Championship.  And the Bahamas Telecommunication Company (BTC) has become the latest company to sign on to be a top-tier sponsorship partner of what promises to be the largest sporting event ever held in The Bahamas.

Bah, why didn't I think of doing this. The Grand Depart kicked off in my city this year - I live and work near the start.

I would have worn a mask too in order to protect my visible identity, but imagine that will all the world's media and all the viewers. Probably would have had to stood further from the start line to avoid any unnecessary hassle from the security.

In related news, how devastated was the UK that Cavendish went down in the first stage? I mean, clearly he was pushing it as he edged out for that sprint but it sucks he pushed it too far and fell on his head as a result.

Next year, I want someone to wear the big BTC running up the Alps or Pyrenees...

Unfortunately no, not this year. And likely not until a Bitcoin promoter choose to grant the winner with Bitcoin on their own.

Hey there's a masked guy having a strange symbol resembling currency symbols. I may want to research that and get on board  Grin

I'm bumping this because the Tour de France has started again and I want to know if anyone is seeing any Bitcoin related references, signs, or running-next-to-bikes shenanigans.

I think this event is a great way to get some free press around the world...

Anyone seen anything? Heard anything?

Such things become less and less likely as bitcoin looses its grassroots support with the blocksize debate and Gavins' attempts for hostile takeovers. Someone waving a Litecoin or Dogecoin flag is more likely now.

Come on, LiteCoin and DogeCoin will never catch on to Bitcoin's acceptance. The Gavin debacle is yesterday's news already. Gavin is not even a lead developer for Bitcoin Core, so his inputs has little relevance. We work with what we have now, and we grow bigger day by day.

The TDF would be a great opportunity to get some free exposure, if you can get a spot on the strategic corners or on the road.

Good idea! But it should be the job of the bitcoin related business. It is a great way to raise the global awareness to bitcoin, like VISA, Coco Cola, Nike etc.

We should have teamed up and came up with a plan, but I did flee the city, too hot and  crowded for me. Swimming was a nicer plan than watching men on bikes pass by Smiley

Make your own, buy a yellow piecee of paper, paste it on some cardboard and cut out a bitcoin BTC!!
If you feel adventurous you could buy some gold sparkles and glue those onto the cutout.

You could make a real sign if you put it on another board and tape a stick on the back to hold it up high.

If you feel insecure you could always ask your family to participate, like the Phelps did with their picketing sessions Tongue

Just be creative of let someone you know help to make something. Glue  a BTC to a cap, paint one on a shirt, or what might be cool, make a cutout, spraypaint a shirt and throw some gold sprinkles on them.

There are so many easy and cheap ways to make some fun bitcoin promotional materials. If you feel really generous you could print out a bunch of paper wallets to hand out to spread the word!

If you want to show bitcoin to the world, why don't you gather your community, make a big banner or create a mosaic of bitcoin logo on the supporters tribune in football match instead of tour de france, since football is the most favorite sport in the world  Smiley

I remember when the Dogecoin community managed to put a driver on the racetrack and a big logo on the car. I can't believe Bitcoin hasn't done something like that already.

i think Dogecoin community is doing it so often now , besides there are a lot of charity events being held by using dogecoin.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.

The goal is to get strangers into Bitcoin. No one that's currently outside the community knows what Litecoin or Dogecoin are!? Although watching that little Doge dog run next to the riders would be kind of funny.

Dogecoin has NASCAR anyway, which is kind of a joke so it works. Bitcoin is for real...as real as the challenge that is a 21 day bike race around France through the Pyrenees and the Alps.
