cooldgamer has left a negative trust on my profile, quite fraudulently. I asked a question about getting some a positive trust on my profile. i attempted to setup a trade in which a stipulation was that the user should be a hero member, i would send first, and we should exchange feedback. What is the crime in that?

It would appear that, because some scammers have used this technique(trust system manipulation), i am not allowed to gain trust in this community, even by offering myself as the sacrificial lamb by sending first. That is not fair. These guys with the positive trust have a monopoly on the trust system so that only them and their friends can be in the positive trust. I want to establish myself in the positive trust, but apparently i am not allowed to do so without being accused of being a scammer, when i have not done anything wrong.

I don't see the crime in stating that i would like to establish positive trust. Logically, a scammer would not be so in the open about it. He would sneak around, making small trades until he was in the positive trust, and then he would use it to pull off a big scam. By being so open about it, the topic will always exist where i sought for the positive trust, so wouldn't that throw a wrench in any attempt to scam by me anyway?

I want to sell coding services at some point on this forum, this is why i seek the positive trust, so that maybe clients will be more inclined to give my proposal more consideration.

But my point, if i have one, is that cooldgamer has left me a negative trust without due diligence. I want an explanation, and i also want to reach some type of an agreement where it can be removed from my profile. I have no intention to scam. Zero. Zilch. Nada. None whatsoever. I simply want the positive trust for my coding services. Reputation is everything on the web, and i want to establish a good one. why the hard time?

Don't think neg trust is ever removed. I called out a scammer a while back and in return he used 5 or 6 of his alt accounts to leave me genative feedback. Sucks, but thet's just the way it is.

Trust isn't moderated by anyone. It's up to you and the person who gave you it to sort it out.

Okay, if you want to make this trade why don't you ask for no feedback for either parties?

Well I'm just suggesting to you, you may/may not have that removed if you leave trust out of the equation for this trade. It really does seem as if you want to buy trust.

I want to trade with reputed hero members to establish a relationship that i am a man of my word. it would be nice to have a positive trust, i can't lie. i am not trying to get into the default trust, i just want to have a +1 for doing a legitimate trade. how does that make me a scammer. People are just projecting their angst over being scammed onto me because i said i sought a positive trust.

Demands don't get you very far in life.

Especially when you demand that people not share their (very subjective) personal opinions.

Trust is not an entitlement program!

completely agree with you.  It's pretty depressing that scammers can still leverage power over you by giving negative trust.

It will come naturally, just by only accepting trades from such high ranks makes you seem as if you want to buy trust.

And you do this by being trustworthy and earning reputation over time. Why do you think someone would think you were reputable when they click on your feedback and see the only feedback you have is for doing a couple of $5 PayPal trades? Anyone with an ounce of common sense would see this for what it was and it certainly doesn't make you trustable or a man of his word. I often see people with a few green trusted feedback then look at their feedback and see it's for stuff that doesn't make them trustworthy at all so having feedback doesnt mean you are trustworthy, especially when scammers with half a brain will try get feedback as fast and as cheaply as they can for the same reasons: to appear trustworthy, so that's why this is wrong on so many levels and you quite rightly got called out for it regardless of how honest your intentions were.

Right now you are establishing a reputation as an emotional basketcase.  Pull yourself together, man!

Nobody can make you angry.  That is a decision you make yourself in response to frustration.  It is a habit you are in, and it is a habit you can train yourself out of.  It doesn't benefit you; instead, it makes you irrational.  It also leads you to engage in behaviour which will make people think less of you.

Think about it - am I going to want to do business with a man who is out of control, who can be controlled by the actions of other people?  Wouldn't I prefer someone who is collected and together and in control of himself?

Do you control yourself, or do others control you?

However I chose to handle it, I certainly hope I wouldn't fly into a rage or throw a temper tantrum about it.  I'd want to have all my wits and faculties about me so I could think as rationally as possible about how to solve my problem and better my situation.  Making demands, telling people what to do, and punishing people typically doesn't motivate them.

I notice that you don't seem to have a lot of empathy or understanding for the other person's point of view.  You say "no reason" - you are dismissing his reasons as illegitimate and expending no effort to understand his point of view, what would satisfy his concerns, what would make him want to deal with you again or speak positively about you.  That doesn't speak very well of you.  I don't need a reputation system to know that I wouldn't want to deal with someone who behaves the way you are acting.  You don't seem to have any desire to learn and improve; only a desire to get what you want regardless of how it makes other people feel.
