  Yeah, ask bob how much he likes me! You have no idea what I have done to bob. What I say on a public forum to him and what has gone on behind the scenes are two totally different things. Do you remember the BitBay shitstorm? Yeah, bob loves me!

There was a mole in the group.

We figured this out about halfway through XST. We were getting dumped into every time we pushed.

The worst part about the mole was not the information they stole, or the BTC they cost us, it was what they did to the fabric of the group. We were unable to root out the mole, and this changed everything.

The group chat had up until then been a rowdy, raucous free for all where Bob and the footsoldiers rubbed shoulders and smoked weed every day. Plays were discussed, strategies analyzed. Bob would hold forth on how to trade, how to make stacks. He would greet everyone with delight as they arrived. Bro! How you doin? You selling some? Don’t be greedy man, put up some small sells every day. But most of the chat was way off topic. Real estate in South America. How to stop Isis. Profit margins in a pizza business. Nootropics. Tattoos. Every variety of sex known to or ever possibly performed by humans, including midget clowns. Especially midget clowns.

The chat was our dusty meeting place that we hurried to as soon as we switched on our computers each day. It was open all day on our phones at work. It was the last window closed before sleep at night. And upon awakening, we would scroll the hundreds of messages, hungry for everything we had missed out on while sleeping.

That all came to an end because of the mole. And because the chat was our very heart, it was the beginning of the end for the group.

Once we were aware there was a mole, strategy was rarely talked about in the chat. Group plays were no longer discussed among equals, they were passed down from on high, carefully filtered. Bob withdrew from the chat more and more.
 
This killed us. The foot soldiers missed Bob. We liked him a lot. We had gathered around closely whenever he was there. And now he was mostly gone.

We were increasingly without a leader. Paul’s cool, cerebral style attracted some of the soldiers, but that could not fill the vacuum of Bob. The Salamander was even less suited to step in and lead. He was not a social animal like Bob. He was a quiet man, a fixer, a behind the scenes specialist.

But Bob did not see these things and trusted that somehow the group was being led. His mind was elsewhere. He was getting ready to leave for nearly a month on a trip and would not be back until just before the BitBay ICO.  The Salamander was leaving the same day for Asia, where he would be coordinating preparations for BitBay.  Bob asked Paul to hold the fort while he was gone.

We thought it would be nice to share another little progress update with you


1. The changes to the PoSA announcements and CloakShield tweaks are already under-way. The PoSA3 developer is currently extending the CloakShield module to enable peers to send anonymous 'read receipts' to acknowledge successful delivery of encrypted CloakShield data. In reality, this takes the form of a Queueing System for CloakShield, which will now persist in retrying alternative onion routes to ensure message delivery. The change to the PoSA Announcement systems (to avoid any session key leaks) has already been completed. Checks to ensure the validity of Public Session Keys (used for PoSA3 handshaking/ECDH key generation) before generating shared secrets have also been added, as advised by the Security Auditor, Iain 'JonnyBravo' Craig. The CloakShield changes are the most substantial change relating to the Security Audit, so once this is out of the way, it should be plain sailing towards a 'final' release of the PoSA3 wallet. As an aside, while making the changes to the PoSA3 Announcement System, we have further improved security by introducing a 'rolling' key system for the CloakShield session keys. This means that your PoSA3 identity is recreated periodically while the wallet runs, which provides even great anonymity for both PoSA3 Senders and Cloakers. To allow a little extra time for peers to renegotiate a PoSA transaction, we have increaed the PoSA3 time-limit for in-progress transactions to 2 minutes (previously 1 minute). The wallet is also default to automatically retrying a failed PoSA transaction, but this setting can be disabled by the user if they wish to manually override and resend PoSA transactions manually (thanks for Ratatosk, for this suggestion).
 
2. The first version of our Android Mobile wallet is nearing completion. It's in testing/bugfixing at present and we've working on tweaking the syncing of the blockchain data prior to release. Development of the Mobile Wallet has been outsourced to a trusted and reliable developer who has worked with members of Team Cloak previously. This has been done to expedite development progress, and we will continue to utilise trusted external resources wherever we see a benefit in this (and when it's financially feasible). Clearly this comes with some extra costs, but we feel it is often prudent to facilitate parallel development whenever we can  
 
3. The custom Cloak Twitter Tipbot is also nearing completion. Please speak to Cashmen if you'd like to help test it prior to full release or if you have any suggestions for extra functionality.
 
4. Team Cloak's designers are currently working on a video presentation to allow non-technical users to get to grips with just how PoSA3 works. This is still in the early stages of production, but we'll keep you posted with progress and previews as it develops. There's a lot of information to distil into an informative, yet not too technical format but we've got it covered.
 
5. Plans for the re-imagined OneMarket continue behind the scenes. As we've mentioned previously, we won't be going into any real detail in this area until PoSA3 is released on the 'live' Cloak Network and we start to prepare the OneMarket White-paper for release. This is primarily to avoid confusion as there is development crossover between PoSA3 and OneMarket developers.
 
6. We are still collecting questions for Iain 'JonnyBravo' Craig in relation to our Internal Security Audit.
