I signed up for a Genesis Mining X11 contract on March 21, 2017, seeing that the price of DASH had sky rocketed. After two weeks, my pending balance of payouts stopped updating. I opened a ticket and my payouts did not begin for a full two weeks after I opened the ticket! And since I was never transferred the first two weeks worth of payments (they hold the first months payments when a credit card is used at purchase time) I never received the payments owed to me from March 21st through April 27th. I have opened four tickets about this and the last one was simply closed without a response. They owe me about 0.075BTC.

I’m not saying Genesis Mining is a scam (I’ve had a Bitcoin mining contract with them before where they followed the contract precisely however that did mean I ended up losing money) but I am saying that if you are not a whale (invest $100k USD or more) they will not respond to your tech support requests. Definitely buyer beware and as always don’t invest money you can’t afford to lose.

Genesis mining and others cloud mining are not scammer because they pay their costumer for the time being,
so 'scam' is not a proper way to explain this situation,
i called them 'pyramid scheme',i think that is the best word to describe it all.
until not they're surviving were not because of their mining, instead they're surviving because of the costumer contracts.
that is why many people said that cloud mining no longer profitable,
because in the next few months you will get nothing in return.
they will tell you that your account no longer profitable because of the fees and difficulties.
it's just about the time when nobody want to invest their money again on it and they can not survive.

I opened up another ticket asking them to pay out just the money that is in "My Pending Balance". It took them two weeks to reply. They said that once a ticket has been assigned to the IT department, there's nothing they can do. And they closed the new ticket.

I always think that genesis mining is really profitable as people always get their payment and it's a life time contract, but I definitely wrong as I have read 2 posts today about genesis mining which didn't pay to customers. They just give a silly reason to close the new ticket, it doesn't make sense.
If they have pyramid scheme, many people will not get ROI or even ended loss, luckily for people who invest in the first phase, but not for whoever invest in the last phase.

Lifetime contract? In the past yes it is but as of now they do give already the duration of 1 year which would really turn out not to be profitable if you plan to invest. This is why i dont really bother to invest on this cloud mining even on genesis. From the begging that they do give lifetime contract then its possible to make money but now on 1 year duration it would really be nearly impossible to profits and for sure you would be on negative after your contract ends.

I am also waiting for more than 2 months to get my ticket solved.
They wired my ETH payout to a wrong address now it just disappeared and I have to wait forever.

I would tend to agree with you, felicita. I work at a place that uses a ticket system and if the devs don't work a ticket within a couple days, they are never going to come back to it without being reminded with a note in the ticket (or by being yelled at by their manager). It appears that in my case with Genesis Mining, the support staff is refusing to put a reminder in the ticket for the IT Department and it will just languish forever.

The main thing is that you should re-submit your ticket every couple of days due to the mega flood of complaints and questions exchanges and other services are bombarded with. I am fairly sure that services are well aware of that, and thus aren't likely going to scroll back at a time where constantly more tickets are flowing into their system. They just expect/assume people to resend their tickets. That's how things go normally, but we all know that Genesis Mining isn't a normal service, which may very well cause them to on purposely ignore certain tickets. Never ever pump any money into that service again, also don't re-invest your 'earning' back into their service, because that's what they want you to do.

Scam report example:

What happened:
I saw escrow.ms's lolipop thread 4 days ago and placed a order for 1000 lolipops. After I sent him payment, he just went offline and never came back. I think he's a big liar and a scam artist. Stay away from him.

Thank you very much for the information, Slow death. I PM'd @Genesis-Mining two weeks ago and was ignored. So I just now made posts in the main Genesis Mining thread and the Scam Report forum:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2511618.0

I really appreciate you taking the time to provide guidance.

I just wanted to post a follow up on what happened with my Genesis Mining ticket. On March 21st, 2018, I sent a threatening email to all the C-level executives at Genesis Mining (I won't post the email addresses here and they weren't that easy to find). Promptly after receiving the email, an Assistant to the CEO and Head of Customer Service/Accounting got back to me. On April 11th, 2018, they paid out the coins I had stuck in "My Pending Balance". And then on June 11, 2018, they paid out the rest owed on the contract.

It took well over a year for this ticket to be resolved. Clearly Genesis Mining is not a scam but this is not an example of good customer service.

Good to see that you got your coins back, I'm sure (unfortunately) there are thousands of victims who will never be that lucky.

It's yet another fractional reserve operation. They pay smoothly as long as their income is sufficient, but stop doing so when there is nothing left to pay out because they have used up user funds to invest in more mining equipment and/or very likely an expensive life style. Genesis Mining has been a problem magnet since the very beginning and will shut down like that eventually.

I'm glad that the bear market knocked some sense into people's heads which (for now) prevents them from investing in shitty cloud mining contracts.

Absolutely agree- there's basically no cloudmining scheme out there I'd touch now with Hashnest discontinuing all their current products (S9, L3+) and Bitdeer coming out (a huge downgrade compared to Hashnest due to how the system works), and the current bear market doesn't spell well for mining as a whole. I'm personally sticking to buying coins instead of mining for the most part as most of my miners are now barely profitable or in the red. Wouldn't be a bad thing if this bear market makes some cloudmining services go out of business before the next bull run occurs.
