Check with Bruce Wagner, for example. If i remember right, he was the first voice of Bitcoin in the mass media, even before Gavin. There were others who did their share to get the editors, reporters and such to cover it back at the end of 2010, beginning of 2011...

All it would really take is for someone to convince a major Greek TV news bureau to do a story on Bitcoin...

Ten minutes ago, TV channel ALPHA aired an interview with some businessman (I don't remember his name) who proposed that Greece should default, go back to drachma and create a second, silver based coin without a fixed price to be used along with the fiat drachma. Interesting idea I'd say. I'd love to see Greece making the first non-fiat currency in Europe. But I doubt anyone will do that. He kept saying "all the government must do is give the people a good currency and they'll take care of everything else".

They also mentioned Max Keiser and they said they will air his opinion tomorrow.

The question of the day was something about a local barter currency somewhere in Greece.

But, again, this is, uhm, the same weakness with this "TEM" is the weakness with all these alternative currencies and I just find it a little bit surprising that they didn't try to use something like the bitcoin. Not necessarily the bit... doesn't have to be a bitcoin, uh, it could be anything else but this suffers from the problem of all currencies, which is: who is in control of the currency and who gets to say how much of it is created and how do people trade and value things.

It's an interesting concept [that greek barter currency], it definitely needs some work. It needs to borrow some of the ideas from bitcoin, with a limit on the number that's locked in and some kind of anti-counterfeiting mechnism built into it. If that's not there, then you're totally at the mercy of the people who administer it and you can see what's happened with the federal reserve and how that's worked out.

Do we really only have 5 people here that are willing to admit that they are Greek? 

Doesn't look very promising for a Greek subforum. Almost 4 weeks of polling, and not even as many Greeks in the poll as we have fingers. 

Is there some big Greek computer geek forum, where Bitcoin is already being discussed? ...Or should be?
