I have a question about the hardfork. What must I do with my wallet.dat file. How does this go when there is a hardfork? Just need to download the new chain and copy paste my wallet.dat file in the new roaming folder?
Yes, my understanding is that it is going to be like any other wallet update, but this one will add the DX capabilities. Not really a "hard"fork, more of a soft fork. And it won't be a "new" chain - you should be able to copy in your chain data file along with your wallet.dat and not have to wait to re-sync. since it's a softfork it isn't going to create a new token correct? No new tokens, just new wallet software and DX support. As far as I understand it, nothing bad would happen to someone who stays on an older wallet, but they won't be able to trade on the DX, operate an exchange node, or receive shares of network revenue. So there's not much motivation to stick with the previous software. ok thanks all for answering I thought I would be a hard fork but seems I remember incorrectly

The chain will not be split. It's possible that staking won't work anymore if you stick with old wallet, but not sure about that. Will have to check with the devs.

There is a linux wallet, but you need to compile it. The steps are in the repo for ubuntu users. If needed I can include it in the auto-build system. What flavor and version of linux do you use?

Lucky You! Instructions for node setup at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1M65hM03tX16FXN-X-30ETWq21WkWts1TxQXv-LR32AU Mainnet doesn't go live until later into July, but might as well learn about it and practice on testnet. That link and more are among pinned items in general-blocknet channel of Blocknet Slack - you should join if not already there. Slack invite link: http://blocknet.herokuapp.com

More than awesome is this update. This means outer world begins to realize our technology and Blocknet is really going mainstream in next steps. This adoption will work like first drop of water and more and more companies will show interest in Blocknet. We can seeing written history in front of our own eyes what Blocknet is doing.

Hi everyone!
Last time I posted i believe was late '14. I had built up a modest amount of XC and Block but things were slowing down with crypto currencies in general so I have been out of the loop ever since. With the recent comeback of Bitcoin, today I decided fish out my old laptop to access my old blocknet wallet.
I have tried the old version and latest version of the wallet but it is unable to sync. As a born-again-newbie can some kind soul enlighten me as to how to get the wallet in sync and working again? I would like to get the wallet staking again and be able to set up a node. Thanks

Hi. There is a torrent / megaupload of the chain up to about 2 weeks ago in the Blocknet slack. It will take only a few hours for you to sync if you use that. Come and join: https://blocknet.herokuapp.com/

I just checked and you are correct - the "official" interim wallet has been recently removed from the repo. I've sent a message to the devs to alert them and remind them about the web link, but it's probably because they are about to release a new version. I've been running on a later version myself, #1419 in the builds directory, because the devs told me a while back that that version is stable, but you might just want to wait for a new official release.
