Synechist...curious what your BLOCK salary is?   Let's make that public so we don't have another XC fiasco on our hands.

I have not been paid by the Blocknet. I've been paid by XC, in XC only (well, in BTC twice if I remember correctly).

I am asking what you WILL be paid so we know before you're paid and not told when funds have been all spent...

Nothing has been decided.

If I am officially put on the Blocknet payroll, this will be announced.

On the other hand, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with my salary becoming public knowledge, so perhaps that won't be disclosed.

My work for the Blocknet has been purely on a volunteer basis so far.

Full transparency is required really.

A full ledger of all costs needs to be provided. Your wages included else how can the ledger be complete?

What's the big deal anyway.

I am shocked that XC has dived like this and all the surrounding chatter about the xc premine. Should have been a full ledger from the start so people could review the spending.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I think the main thing they are fighting with is , There has been a shit storm on this thread and in other places, Random people coming in and jumping on the smallest pointless detail and trying to forcefully turn it into this big thing (yes some points were valid, most of them were not)

Currently if dan mentioned he has a cat, within 5 minutes expect a post saying "OMG HE SOLD ALL HIS XC TO FEED HIS CAT"

When you have people actively jumping on every single tiny detail and trying to blow it up into a huge thing, It creates the problem of.....is the announcing of the exact precise payments for each member for which jobs then clearly some people are going to disagree and be angry at the amounts paid and attempt to turn it into something bigger than it is.

You guys promised us that bookkeeping of the funds would be open and on the blockchain, so unless you guys plan on breaking that promise, all expenditures that happen from the ITO funds will be public knowledge anyway. Which shouldn't be a bad thing, keeps everything as honnest as it possibly can. Wink

Transparency is necessary if you do such a projekt.

I totally agree  with your points and hope this will be solved here soon.

Yes, you're right, and all spending will be recorded on the blockchain. No question of that.

On the other hand it could make sense in terms of the privacy of devs for, say, coins to be taken from the funds in larger batches allocated to, say, a given release. From there, payments to individuals could be kept private, while the amount used for a given release will still be publicly disclosed.

How does that sound?

Sounds like there's something to hide.  No reason to not be transparent otherwise.  WE are paying your salary by participating, therefore, we deserve to know who is receiving the funds.  Argue that one.

Don't trust any exchange!

So we can start trading BLOCKNET 7 days after the ITO ends on November 5th? Does that mean that trading will commence on November 12th? Is there a countdown timer or something like that? Or would someone graciously answer these questions of mine Smiley Would be greatly appreciated Smiley

Quote from: synechist on October 30, 2014, 17:08:08
Hi all

I can now give some clarity on the status of XC's premine:

- The premine has been completely spent since mid September.

- Dan has been part-funding XC's development since day one (XChat and the multipool, among other things), and funding it entirely since Rev 2.

- Dan will continue to fund XC's development, and so nothing about the source of the funding or the pace of development will change.

- Specifically, XC's funding comes from Dan's corporation, which has pioneered IP over RF in marine environments.

- The premine was not dumped or traded for profit at any stage.

- The premine was used exclusively for paying for XC's project - that is, for Teka and I to work, for websites, PR expenses, the ATM deal, etc.

XC is, and will continue to be, Dan's baby. He has personally invested over 1000 hours of his time into it.
Since it's been developed at his own expense for some time, you have good reason to believe that he won't just lose interest.
His personal stake is significant, and this serves to increase his commitment.

A little pre-emptive announcement:

A group of Bitcointalk users have modified (or perhaps completely invented) some IRC chat logs and screenshots in order to spread FUD about the Blocknet and XC.

It's incredibly easy to create a "record" of any purported conversation you want and present it as fact.
However such logs are not provably truthful, and in this case are false and clearly are posted with malicious intent.

Dan's identity is public and he has staked his personal reputation upon his public conduct and upon XC.

Dan has delivered - and overdelivered - on XC's tech for five months without fault. XC's timeline is testament to this.
And if Dan delivers (notably in the absence of any pumps on XC), then he is not out to scam people out of their money.

Pertaining to some equally vacuous FUD claims:
XC's premine was never dumped, but has been spent entirely on development.
Together with Dan's personal funds, it has funded XC's development.

On a final note, the collaborative spirit that inspired the Blocknet has led Dan to collaborate on a number of projects.
He has openly stated in advance his collaboration (on a freelance basis) with every coin that he has worked with.
This has been done candidly and Dan has nothing to hide regarding his collaborations.
(In fact, there's reason to be proud of the big-mindedness of rising above petty competition to benefit crypto as a whole.)
