I promise you folks, that bitlocker will not steal $80,000 from you like the Scam Site Lord above me, Michael Moriarty might.

Are you sure about that?

Both are fundamentally insecure I would posit.

Good point... moral is, don't use any service that is run by Moriarty.

Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

I also use windows 8 but I don't store my private keys in onedrive. You should play it smart.

Don't do anything illegal or even controversial on windows or osx OS's. They are compromised.

Don't store more coins in your desktop wallet than you need for day to day activity and this isn't an issue. It is more than just private key security, desktop wallets are prone to software crashes, physical damage and so on. This should apply to hardware wallets as well.

Of course. Secret court orders probably in place already.

No coincidence that Truecrypt was discontinued and the devs recommended to use Bitlocker
