MANDATORY UPDATE REQUIRED ALL WALLETS![hardfork] - sorry we have a few hardforks to be done and all gonna happen soon1. M7M-v2 (hardfork on 10/26/2014 9:30:00 AM EST) A switchover of the mining algorithm to M7M-v2 will occur on 10/26/2014 9:30:00 AM EST. Details about M7M-v2 can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg9230961#msg9230961. The expected hashrate using the new algo is 2.545 times less than that with the prior algo. To continue with mining, download the new minerd (we will add download links here and in the OP soon), and follow the pool mining guide. Be sure that you are using the new wallet v1.1.0.1 too.2. Block rewarding system (hard fork at block 32,750) A change in the block rewarding system is needed. This won't change the block rewards, but to be better to comply with the change of hashrate due to the M7M-v2 algo. The new algo leads to less network hashrate; the new block rewards will have maximum value at diff = 0.68 (for low block height); according to hashrate = diff * 2^32/180, that is about 16 Mh/s. We have also made increasing maximum diff with block height, to allow more people mining later on, e.g., optimum hashrate of 27 Mh/s which produces 300XMG at block 40,000. 3. A new difficulty adjustment method - Magi quantum wave (MQW) (hard fork at block 33,500) Superficially a name here: Magi quantum wave (MQW) ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wave_function). This adjustment is done by averaging prior 15 block difficulties. A significant difference here from other adjustment implementations is that each block difficulty accounted is given a weight, and higher weights are given to more recent blocks; in addition to that, block time is also taken into account. Usually the lower difficulty, the smaller block time. The adjustment algo considers less weight of a block which has the lower difficulty. See details here: https://github.com/magi-project/magi/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L12964. Finalizing the PoW-IIAs we can see the PoW-I (will be finished at block 50,000) has produced less coins than expected. To continue the CPU mining, also along with the new algo implementation, it will be very necessary to continue the PoW mining, that will finally make XMG a hybrid PoW/PoS-II coin and that is supposed to remain years long. The hybrid system is more secure than the pure PoW or pure PoS. The PoW-II block reward has maximum 50 XMG and minimum 3 XMG, with the same block rewarding adjustment as the PoW-I. Similarly, the optimum diff grows over time. Wallet v1.1.0.1:http://cryptomagic.com/files/magi-release/v1.1.0.1/Github source code: https://github.com/magi-project/magi

Great idea on the timeline. The one I created needs to be graphically updated. I'll use your updates in it. Yes, I am on the magi team and I will make sure we set the proper foundation to grow as a community. I want us to realize something. We have a team, yes, but the team is only partial of what is needed with magi. The more we expand its community, the more we earn. There is no need to be greedy or hide the fact you are mining Magi. It is very important to spread adoption of magi because it reflects on your earnings on a wider scale. Communities and Groups should be formulating with the team to progress in the opportunity magi has presented. [MagiTeam & roadmap & plans]Here something has happened /gonna happen. 1) So far I liked the XMG implementation and what's been happening; myself had a lot time spent on the basic stuffs. Speaking of a coin/cryptocurrency, obviously we need far more than that. But speaking of a coin/cryptocurrency, we do need strong fundamentals. I am not pretty getting the idea why a coin should be mined only 7 days with GPU / ASIC and then fully relies on PoS, do you? This is where I see interesting in XMG. The M7M algo (v1 & v2) just sits there well; I couldn't imagine there goes on tons of numerical/floats computations in addition to hash in order to maintain the public ledger in this system. The floats computation like the M7M algo appears to be a mess regarding the calculation, but just going well. M7M is never a beauty of perfect ago, but it works as far as we can see, along with many other adjustments. 2) MagiNeXT: i) First and most importantly, we'll put reasonable amount of efforts into the coin itself as done in the past. ii) There are numerous stuffs we can talk to reach out Magi services, but we'd focus on a few features as the targets which shall be done in the near future. The primary goal is to implement real stuffs to get XMG used in our life; this not only gives XMG a life but also us a life. # Simplifying using Tor/PoS, something like turning it on and leave it; ideas are developing and being in progress; we'll be able to talk more once almost there. # Marketplace; this is far more than interesting, but will get community to participate together. # Payment gateway system; it's pretty easy to be done by getting into service like coinpayments. Addition to that I've been in touch by the 3rd party about developing a payment gateway system; I am lack of idea when I am typing, but thought this might be something we should develop. Surely we need to think about the necessity and some further more before getting going. Any ideas are appreciated. # I guess a few above points are 'big' plans. Some tech stuffs are covered in the "Timeline". These are never a complete list. We need to sort out our own features while I must agree all coins including bitcoin should head towards the same direction. Please suggest what features XMG should take/focus. If you want discussion, head to this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=848731.03) MagiTeam: something community should be aware of: 111magic has been working with me pretty a while (this reminds months back when he was using his laptop to mine coins); I am pretty impressed by his passion on XMG; it appears he will keep doing XMG stuffs, if you have questions but can't find me or get reply from me, shoot him a PM. SamWalters has many awesome ideas from which I have educated myself. One thing for sure is that you can always get positive energy by reading his posts. SamWalters will be our think tank & marketing expert; if you have an idea, let's get it to him. ex33s is currently running services including dice game and paper wallet; ex33s will be in support of the coming marketplace site and adviser of many more other services currently in progress. I'm quite impressive by his constant tagging me over IRC, of course, his dice game at the beginning, but he is very good at stuffs more than that, for example, web apps. I would like to welcome jawitech as our new team member. jawitech will act as "think-tank" (I've been already benefited a lot from him), replying to your questions and together with others be responsible for the marketing. You may already see jawitech's active posts, feel free to PM him whenever you have questions. Basically that's all we announce at this moment, but we actually have more people working on XMG; when time comes and they are willing to be public, we will certainly give more information. I & the team can merely do part of jobs, however, the constant growth of a coin needs efforts from the whole community. We're here open to all of you, for any one of you has ideas/comments or you're experienced on something on which we are lack of attention, do not hesitate to let us know. We do have sizeable funds hanging there for contributors, but we do welcome people to work together as like a team.

[MagiPay internal tests]A little thoughts before the update, personally I am satisfied with the current implementation of magi. What puzzled me regarding what a coin looks like are nearly addressed in the design. I have a good vision of magi as long as the crypto is on the track, though magi is not a completely new system but constructed based upon bitcoin/litecoin/ppcoin. We've touched both the PoW and PoS, # CPU minable # Minable available to a broad audience, fair distribution (either mining or staking) #Most secured PoS coin # Energy efficient. All of these are treasures of magi. Please be aware of the energy-efficient argument that can be something big. Relying on the fundamental implementations, very much needed from now on are (speaking from getting and spending XMG point of view): # a variety of miners: to be used in various systems, linux/mac os/windows/unix, apparently; specific focus is given to easy use, like wallet built-in miners / web page miners, and miners for smart devices; # payment like the magipay which plugs in at the first place, and a marketplace we may focus on in the near future; # apps that assist mining/spending. It's hard to imagine what magi looks like in the future, nether do I. An apparent fact is that magi is very much different from the beginning, that's one of the reasons I can't tell. I am neither a software developer nor a business man, but mostly doing good thinking stuffs. You know when you're researching something, you have to stick to that despite frustrations (always happened) and find solutions; that's particularly important and critical to a work published in a notable journal (e.g., Nature), that's a process I've been going through, so I understood it very well. The coin is not just about the dev's delivery, but the community. I wish community could take part of development outside the magi team, also call for more business ideas based on magi. Alright, I am updating the MagiPay status. We have done a few tests; the backend works as expected. # Merchant creates a payment through m-epays websiteThe details are for accepting coins paid by buyers: # MagiPay boxThis is basically seen as a web page right now: # Pay the amount by sending coins to the above addressAfter 6 confirmations, the above link automatically changes to the follow page; coins show up in merchants' wallet as well: # Details of above transactionPrice: 48.66821918 XMG Coins buyer paid: 48.66831918 XMG Coins merchant received: 48.66821918 XMG The difference 0.0001 XMG is the mining fee, which is taken care of by the buyers. Merchants get what the item is priced, so basically 0% charge. We need improvements to facilitate user experience, a more user friendly interface, and also easy use to merchants. Expected merchant's test will be initiated on the 7th. Please suggest any improvements we need to include. MagiPay: m-epays webgui:
