Well said. We have all seen what happen when a big exchange has problem with customers' bitcoins.
When keeping your coins in exchanges, you don't have the private keys and so you won't be able to get any of your bitcoin back when the exchanges disappear and have problems.

The best exchange site for me is localbitcoins and btc-e. I like btc-e because they don't need your docs and other confidential infos.

Have you tried asmoney.com? They have really strict security and they are reallly good, I've been using their service for about a month now and I've han 0 problems so far, but I doubt there will be something wrong. Try it.
