Don't you guys find them annoyingly loud? Is it really worth the tradeoff for a slightly faster response time or the ability to touch-type?

Professional gamers will say yes, but at a casual level I believe that a high polling rate common keyboard is enough.

I heard of an interesting use case recently. Apparently, mechanical keyboards are excellent for the deaf due to the increased tactile feedback, dramatically improving their rate and accuracy in some cases.

most of those are for gaming right, outside from that i dont see it any benefit.

Actually not.  They're really useful for learning to type since the tactile feedback will clearly tell you when you've done the keystrokes.  I actually prefer not to use mechanical keyboards now since I can type relatively proficiently at an alright speed (85 consistently) without the usage of mechanical keyboards.

I still use an old PS/2 IBM keyboard from the 90's. Still going strong, built like a tank. Love it. Cheesy

I hate mechanical keyboards at night, they are just too noisy sorry.
