This is the best thing you can spend < 1.2 bitcoins on.

It's almost as good as the 0.4 bitcoin beers at Whiskey Dicks!

Wooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooo!

I've been reading for about 3 hours... through the first 25 pages.  Gotta switch back to Diablo 3 to get at least a level in tonight... also to spread the good word of bitcoin magazine to my D3 buds.

I'm in Cleveland, Ohio.

Anyone know what the "free gift or whatever" was for the order of 3+ magazines?  I ordered one solo and one 3+ subscription, but both packages look the same.  I haven't opened both yet, cuz I'm waiting until I'm at work tomorrow to make sure I show the co-workers a nice pretty version.

What did I say again? Oh yeah, most people will get their magazine on Tuesday.

Looks like my prediction was right Smiley

you were either wrong, they just sold an utterly sad number of magazines, or there is not enough posting to make any kind of assertion.

Apology accepted.

edit: also preorders getting them about 3 weeks after they supposedly shipped, digital issue coming in about a month, so anyone orders now might get theirs a week before digital. I still say waiting to release digital was bat shit insane.

I'm sorry to hear you were only shipped 1 copy but I'm sure it will be cleared up properly. With all your trolling and ranting leading up to the release and now your ranting afterwards you have yet ONCE to comment on the ACTUAL content of the MAGAZINE. I would really like to hear your opinion after being such an outspoken critic this whole time.

The print quality is not so great though...
I'm still waiting on my issues in South Korea (about 300 of them) to judge this on my own. If I confirm, we'll probably be forcing the printers to do a reprint and reship for us at their expense, less we move to another printer. We've actually switched printers a few times in the early stages of developing this magazine due to quality concerns but you never know the actually quality until it is printed en masse. If anyone else is having this problem with their individual issues, please let us know (info@bitcoinmagazine.co.uk).

And overall, it really is a fantastic job to Matthew and co. on putting out a very professional-looking Magazine from scratch on a small budget!
Thanks for the vote of confidence. Nothing helps realizing your goals like actually attacking them, and this has been a great learning experience for everyone involved. Although I can say we won't be making the same mistakes again, I am confident we'll be making all new mistakes in the future. Keep the constructive criticisms coming!

How much does a 12 month subscription cost?

There's a discount for a yearly subscription. See http://subscribe.bitcoinmagazine.net for the latest pricing.

I got ONE of mine today...I ordered two...

That could have been a shipping error. Please email info@bitcoinmagazine.co.uk as we don't handle private customer concerns publicly on random forums. Thanks.

I just got mine, and I must say that I'm impressed. It's a great read Cheesy

I'm 45 pages in so far, and it's been great content. I did notice one article that is missing a section of itself, but that just makes it more collectable, am I right? Tongue (It's the article that refers to the process of the Bitcoin Network. The article states something like "Process of the Bitcoin network" at the bottom of the page, and jumps right to step 2 & 3 on the next page. See P. 17/18)

I thought the print quality was decent but agree the ink rubs off too easily.  At least you guys sent me 2 copies, I will handle one of them and keep the other one untouched.

By "too easily", I mean the ink is too easily smeared for a magazine you are trying to keep nice, but if it was a regular run-of-the-mill magazine you were going to throw away when you were done reading, then it's probably just fine.  It is not as though the letters are just melting off the page.

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

If it were, I'd just say that this is what Vladimir was referring to when he said "some issues would be more collectible than others". lol

Writing is definitely... amateurish, but it'll get better I am sure.  The writers still hate commas.  :p
+1, loooooooong sentences.

My impressions: Yes, it is a first, and won't be perfect. I hope future issues will have more content so that the text doesn't have to be printed so large. The writers made some assumptions about their audience in some of the pieces here and there, which makes some of the content fly over the heads of the newbies.

The illustrations are awesome! Only quibble there is that the illustrators need to leave a margin so that their hard work doesn't disappear into the binding, when doing a 2 page spread.

Unless you turn the pages with tweezers, the fingerprint is probably yours.
