Is it just me, or has there been a huge spike in the number, stupidity, and/or loquaciousness of new users spamming insubstantial rubbish over the past few days? Or maybe they've been building up gradually and have just crossed some sort of threshold? Either way, my ignore list is growing at an alarming rate and I feel like I'm going to get RSI from reporting all these posts. And how am I supposed to keep up when I'm only allowed to report one post every 4 seconds?

Some users have recently been taking it to the next level in spammy posts unfortunately Sad

Out of curiosity how many posts have you reported and what's your accuracy?

EDIT: The activity algorithm (that chooses when you turn to a legendary member) was nasty with you, 938 activity and still no fancy legendary coin, maybe this Tuesday!

Your accuracy is very good , great work ! Why you don't ask theymos to enter in the forum staff? I think we need 1-2 new moderators.

My accuracy is : 356 posts with 82% accuracy

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. Also, I don't generally report the posts of the 252 members I have on ignore (because I don't see them). If I did, my reports might outnumber my posts. But I'd probably just go insane like kiba did. Undecided

Hard to say. The increase is pretty even across all the subfora, I think. Except maybe the altcoin section, because I have no idea what goes on there. No doubt nothing good.

There's an economic incentive to post crap. (Notice the correllation between the amount of drool flowing from a user's mouth and the amount of referral links in their sig.)

There's not much financial incentive to spend time on thoughtful posts and the influx of mouthbreathers spamming the forums is rapidly removing any intellectual incentives. Par for course for internet forums, then.

Selling out to advertisers shows you respect neither yourself nor the rest of us.

Too many low-quality posts? Mods not keeping things clean enough? Self-moderated threads let you keep signature spammers and trolls out!

In my opinion, it is much worse here than on other forums I've been on. The financial incentive gives people incentive to reply to things they have little to no genuine interest in, causing a particularly low quality of posts. On other forums, yes, there are many users who contribute little to the discussions they take part in, but at least their posts aren't driven by extrinsic incentives.

Well with the moderator positions its more about frequency and accuracy
Makes sense for foxpup to have something like that from 2012 to now
That said doesn't hurt to get more I'm sure if theymos updated the stats I wonder who the most active reporter of the non staff is right now.

I think the accuracy measure is fantastic, never seen it before BCT.

I think this is the key -  people respond to incentives.  The signature campaigns have distorted the use of the forum.  Even when the posts are not crap, there are just so many more of them you have to go through them to follow the thread.  Especially now that some users seem to be literally farming accounts.  I wish there was a way to reward thoughtful posts, but I have not seen a system that can't be gamed somehow, and if there is going to be a financial reward for doing so, it will get gamed.

Good luck.

It's all about dumbasses registering from shit tier countries and unable to form a coherent sentence.
