What is your opinion on gamergate whether it is for ethics and transparency that is misunderstood really an issue of corrupt journalism, or a feminist issue that has split the cauldron of gaming in a sense all over the place. (Or perhaps something else like purposeful misdirection)

Eventually, several articles on the same basic topic were published. The general premise was that it is pointless to talk about "gamers" as a whole—the constituency is too vast—and further, that the core identity of a "gamer" had become dominated by the loudest and most unacceptable sort. The most openly prosecutorial was a Gamasutra op-ed by editor-at-large Leigh Alexander titled "'Gamers' don't have to be your audience. 'Gamers' are over." It argued that the only way to begin anew the project of defining the culture of gaming is to tear the whole thing down and build from scratch. It contained this passage:

'Games culture' is a petri dish of people who know so little about how human social interaction and professional life works that they can concoct online 'wars' about social justice or 'game journalism ethics,' straight-faced, and cause genuine human consequences. Because of video games.

I think it's a total clusterfuck of all three, I think the culprits largely responsible for this are the matriarchs ( more and more I refuse to call these women feminists because they are an insult to real feminism ) and we've always known that gaming journalism are corrupt and games developers are about as out of touch as westminister politicians. What these people have done is backlash against a few gamers who are more than sick of their bullshit and the gamers involved in this whole thing have allowed themselves to be completely baited and look like morons to any outsider.

By the way, I'm actually glad you made a thread like this OP because then people won't have an excuse to spam this bullshit all over the forums in an attempt to make themselves look even more stupid than they already are. I hate a lot of gaming journalists, never pay a single bit of attention to them and this kind of crap is exactly why, you can see the true contempt that they and major games developers have for particularly the PC gaming community.

The use of sex in any form of media has always been around and lets face it and it's not going to change and frankly I find the way women act as if they don't do the same to the sexes they're attracted to is patronising.

In agreeement some of the reviews are just crap if its not a Halo or a Call of Duty but something like Lolipop Chainsaw then according to the game reviewers its sexist, without even bothering with the game mechanics or gameplay.

In other words I don't give a damn what your personal opinion is or some moral spiel about it just tell me if the game works has more less no super crappy bugs and is fun to play.
Yet apparently that's a hard thing to do lol...

As an aside to the feminists
(I sort of want the net result out of this being 4chan or similar groups making their own rating system to troll the F out of everyone else and then having random reviewers go there to make opinions)
After all making games for well making games is what its about (aka enjoying it and trying new things and then telling others about it bias aside)

The bottom line for me is don't be shitty to other people. You don't agree with what someone is saying or their point of view? That's fine, but that's not an excuse to call them a 'dumb c*nt.'
