There used to be a site called Rugatu which was a bitcoin-enabled implementation of OSAQ.  That site is no longer alive.

Does anyone know of any open-source Q&A software that is bitcoin-enabled?

If not, is anyone up for building it (for a price)?

What do u mean by bitcoin-enabled Q&A software ? Those who ask Q will be charged and those who answers will be paid in BTC ?

Yes.  Basically the questioner sets a bounty, people answer, and the best answer that the questioner accepts receives the bounty.  The questioner can decide how much or little the bounty is.

I feel like this would be difficult to implement, seeing as this concept has been implemented many times, without having to pay a bounty for solving a question, Yahoo Answers being one. Obviously, people would be incentivized to give a better answer, but altogether, I feel the bulk of the population would still rely on the free websites rather than having to pay.

Those with chegg subscriptions make my jelly tho.

Have you seen the quality of answers on Yahoo Answers?  It's so embarrassing they should have closed the site by now.

It has been implemented, at Rugatu and JustAnswers.

True, but tbh I use it mostly for homework solutions, and it's fine for the most part haha. But the argument would be similar to the argument used in the Netflix-clone thread: what would incentivize people to use your website as opposed to using other more popular ones? If the site was actually built in the future, however, I'd use it to answer questions. I'm not opposed to it, as I think it would be successful if enough people wanted to ask questions on that site, but that's the difficulty. Users may register because they want to make bitcoins, so they'll try to answer all the questions, but they may not necessarily want to ask questions.

I spent more than a bitcoin getting questions answered on Rugatu.

I wanted good answers quickly, so I paid.  It was well worth it.

Sorry, I was mistaken then. The matter still exists of finding someone to host the webpage and manage it. The actual design doesn't seem too difficult, although I don't have enough time to manage it, nor do I have necessary funds.

https://BitAnswers.com - our site does just that. BTC, LTC and DOGE bounties, and tipping. Over 900 registered users and 200 questions, since Rugatu has closed, we are the biggest Bitcoin enabled Q&A site. We used question2answer as a base, and built onto it for our custom design and bitcoin.

So I can see that it's tip-enabled. Can you provide statistics as to how many people get tipped?

We have had 14 people deposit, excluding us. We are tipping most users of the site, and most of these either withdraw or tip others. I don't have any data for just our users, but total tips, including us, is 114.

114 what? $/Satoshis/BTC (no way)/euros? I'll check it out when I have time!

I guess CoinLearn.org offers something similar that offers learning and earning opportunity for Bitcoin.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant 114 tips, with each ranging from about $0.002 (minimum tip amount) to $0.40 (highest we have had so far). However, the main part of the site is now the bounties, rather than tipping. But that was only released yesterday, so it's too soon to give any stats.
