In Bitcoinmax days he was "payb.tc". He went quiet for a while, then became "E&G"- (IanG- get it?) until this recent interest in this thread.

Now he has become "User25846".

He still has his 2673 post count, and "Hero" status.

I think it's really out of order that theymos is allowing him to pull this namechanging act every so often.

He always openly stated that if pirate defaulted any invested BTC would be lost, so I don't know if he deserves a scammer tag. But then, who can tell if he ever actually sent pirate any coins?

He's been acting very fishy ever since Pirate defaulted and tried to hide every detail of his passthrough. From what I know, he also refused to work together with the officials (SEC). So I'm not sure anymore if it really was a passthrough at all.
I wonder if anybody living in Australia would be willing to act on behalf on Ian's investors and face him to talk about all this (and maybe even file a lawsuit). Ian seems to have ignored a few withdrawal requests before everything blew up. Considering the current BTC value, a bounty from those investors would most likely equal tens of thousands of dollars.

Well, there's a huge difference between a bounty, a percentage of the returns and a plain fund which pays regardless of the outcome..
With the recent exchange rate, even a few Bitcoins should go a long way though. I'm in, just to see some justice done.

A fixed bounty might increase the loss if the retrieved amount is lower than the promised bounty. Same for a fund.

A percentage however includes the incentive to be as effective as possible, because a higher return means a higher reward.

If he does still have a decent amount of bitcoins left then I'd bet that as soon as the judgement is made and reality sets in for him (before sentencing) then he will probably go on the run...

Well at least from the SEC document we know that pay.btc was a real pass-through. It could still be though that Ian kept some coins for himself when it was clear that things would collapse.
