Yeah, thats just designed wrong. It should be front -> back with cases no longer than 29", and a multiple of them needs to be no wider than 19" but as close as possible.

Considerng the delivery time for the MR's, you might want to hold out for the ASIC based products. Then again,  I wonder what will be the turnaround for those systems.
I wonder what BFL's thought process was since they knew they were developing ASIC's. I mean, why bother with these FPGA systems? Unless, there is some kind of problem we are missing.
Is it a concern that some people will want resale value? ormitigate some other kind of risk being overlooked here?

The FPGA is a cheaper and less risky way to validate their design.  Now that it is validated, they can move to custom hardware.

Well what if they needed $1mil to create ASIC wafer ? You can't just get a loan like that easily.

They get the money from selling FPGA, now the ASIC wafer is funded and created, they can sell it for $5mil, while buying back all the FPGA systems will cost $1mil, $4mil profit

Now to get the $4mil profit, they need to encourage you to buy the ASIC, and what better way than to offer a full price buy back of FPGA ?

I bet they don't ship in any reasonable quantity until 2013.  I'm watching and waiting for OpenASIC - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=76351.0 - with it being opensource hardware its more likely to be cheaper and therefore more widely available and used.

I agree on this possibility, and am watching it closely. Knowing the slow to ship history of BFL, if their pricing seems overly expensive, it would seem tempting to wait & see what the openware option provides.

Goodness hope that prediction is right. 

BFL please give me time to mine enough with my GPUs to get a BFL single add-on in the wake of huge difficulty increases.

I am more than happy to give BFL my money because they have proven to me that they can deliver. I did my due diligence and found them to be upstanding business men who make mistakes.

If anyone here doesn't make mistakes, please let yourself's be known to the rest of us so we can castrate troll you when you do.

Maybe BFL should offer some interest when you deposit your money which would be both fair and motivation for them to send your product sooner.

Someone should approach the with this idea.

Ok, I don't disagree with the sentiment, but let me play devils advocate:

Why?  People are willing to send them money without this "incentive," so why offer it?

They would gain a larger customer base. I haven't sent BFL any of my own funds (...yet... maybe...) but I definitely would if something like this was put in place, and an interest rate high enough to be significant.

Again, why?  They can't keep up with the orders they have now, why would they need more unhappy customers?  Assuming their ASIC plans come to fruition as planned, they are literally going to be the only game in town.  For better or worse, you can deal with them or you can deal with no one at that point, so again, what's the incentive on their part?

Once again, I'm not disagreeing with the sentiment, but the hard realities of business clash with ideals.
