In Geocaching there is a term for all non-geocachers: Muggles http://www.geocachingonline.com/2007/10/31/what-is-a-muggle/

We could use a similar term for non-bitcoiners  Cool

Suggestions?

The meaning of the term bitmuggles was instantly apparent totally without any knowledge that geocachers had also appropriated the term muggles.

In fact, maybe the geocachers should be using geomuggles or geocachemuggles or some such for greater clarity in their own appropriation of the concept.

Yes. And there is another funny similarity: The "cache" (hidden box) is comparable to the wallet.

Nicht schlecht, aber bei Statist denke ich spontan an Schauspieler (und an Statistik).

It's a common term among anarchists and libertarians, but it's true that especially most of us Germans would not understand that. Probably also because we're largely "autoritätshörig".  Tongue I remember someone once proposed "Staatsjünger" as a translation.

"Statist" is a nice step up from "muggle," but let's take this thought process to its logical end and call everyone who doesn't do what we do something like "zombies," "sheep," "dregs," "dullards," or perhaps "submissive, narrow-minded simpletons" -- or Jews. Enemy combatants? Or the Japanese Unit 731 favorite - "logs."

These people are Papercashs. Bitcoin virgins. Fiat users. Central Bank apologists. Notewavers. Tree-squashers. Oldtimers. Checkwriters. PayPal tragics. Visabois. Dollar worshippers.

But most of all they are Future Bitcoin Users.

"Muggles" is a good term for geocaching because people who don't know about geocaching will often walk right by a cache location without even realizing it. There's another world, hidden away within our own world, that muggles are completely unaware of. It's a very similar situation as Harry Potter's muggles However, the term is not derogatory. I think some people would take offense to being called blind, oblivious, or cache-stomper just because nobody's told them about caching.

So while I enjoy the funny names we're coming up with, if we actually end up adopting one, let's try not to scare off potential bitcoin users.
