Now, all of this information is a matter of public record, and there is nothing here that leads me to conclude that Dan is, in fact, a bad actor.
But: it seems to be clear that there is a tax lien on his business projects, and his CV/resume seems to not tie in with some of the claims I've seen about Dan elsewhere.
This could have implications for both XC and BlockNet, especially given the way that almost all responsibility for the project appears to rest on Dans shoulders.

So, BlockNet dudes, any comments? Is this useful information for BlockNet investors?

Personally, I don't think Dan owing a bunch of taxes makes him a "bad guy" or anything. Some of his actions as a likely result of owing these taxes might. But being in debt isn't inherently unethical. The US Government might view a few of these actions as a crime though. And the responsible thing to do on behalf of investors in blocknet is to have the funds held by someone else. That's pretty clear. If they haven't given Synechist or someone else Dan's position as the non-company individual in the multisig triangle then they're being a bit daft and reckless. Even in a multisig arrangement, it seems likely that one of the two other cosigners could be compelled by the US Government to release funds to Dan on behalf of the Government.

Dan putting himself in such a position while in such a situation would be unethical, as it places additional risk on investors that they were not aware of.

I don't really think Dan should go to jail here, despite all that's gone on. I'm sure a lot of people would disagree with me there. But personally I'd rather see justice from the market. That seems unlikely though. As it appears the only actors left in this particular market(blocknet and its associated coins) value their perceived profit over any ethical concerns. And I'm sure some think that anyone left holding these coins after seeing everything that's happened thus far might deserve to lose their money. But I'd rather everyone learn their lesson the easy way, rather than the hard way. But it's hard to have too much sympathy for those who seem to view ignorance as a badge of honour.

Interesting EvilDave and i want update with a bit more info..

First it seems Poloniex has now added a NO talking about Pumps policy on their chat box i noticed since this Blocknet stuff.
I have seen a mod warning guys about it many times ever since the Blocknet drama..

This was fascinating to me because i recall seeing a REAL pump(s) by headless on Cryptsy way back.. which was happily embraced by chat box mods.

I have long said LOUDLY that these Pumps associated with Blocknet etc are scammy and not even real pumps !
Where as the ones on Cryptsy long before noobs showed up OCT 2013 were..
One was a real pump and the others were fake pumps.
One is done with honesty and transparency and the other is not.

And the hoard of noobs in this scene never seen or heard of it and have no clue what it is either.. but booooy do they like to run their mouth about this stuff LOL
You see the difference was "headless" organized these REAL Pumps ahead of time.. he would say in the morning tonight at 5pm we will Pump Gold Coin (for example)
And when guys doubted him he would flash his coins / LTC etc proving he had it sitting there ready for the pump.
Then we all together "Pumped" the chosen coin for an hour or so where all of us kept buying and selling etc
This happened lots and we all were unified in doing it and it was all orchestrated on Cryptsy's chat box with a conductor named headless !
It was crypto-music.. and i knew then it was a special sight to behold.. a rare thing !

The difference is these pumps were announced publicly and everyone was encouraged to get involved openly and honestly.
And i can guarantee the noobs in this scene who got here a year ago have no clue what i am talking about either.
Just imagine seeing maybe 200 guys on Cryptsy chat ALL screaming about pumping the same coin.. AT ONCE ..and actually DOING IT !
Trust me it was innnnnntense as HELL !
And i seen the little rinky dink fake pumps that happened since and they were a laughable joke LOL

So what happened ? headless cashed out on the last pump a bit early and that ruined the TRUST in the scene permanently for ever afterwards.
I warned him before that he should consider not killing the cow.. because he won't be able to milk it anymore.
I knew it was going to happen LOL
I also found out that many were saying there was a Pump collaboration between headless and another person possibly "Zack" ?
And some were saying that Zack burned headless in the pump by dumping and cashing out before him and all of us in turn.
And i don't doubt that because Zack had told me back then he had bills to pay by the end of the month and he had to cash out 1,000's of LTC
and it was 1,000's of LTC being used in the Pump(s) in the Litecoin market for IFC, GLD etc etc

Second Point, I had a guy tell me he had emailed my topic link to Coindesk that was deleted after a week i had in my sig here (updated with Blocknet info)
And i see Coindesk has so far avoided mentioning it even in there Altcoin round up story they post regularly..
It's funny they seem to have noticed Rekt coin and made a big story out of it and FTC's neo-scrypt scammy crap.. but overlooked Blocknet for some odd reason.

Although the entire BlockNet thread is partying like it's 1999, finishing the ITO is only a first step. There is a lot of work to get done before BlockNet investors will see any real income from their investment, unless the entire point of BlockNet is to cash in with a quick pump and dump.
