I don't really, everytime I have tried to talk about Bitcoin they make weird faces and look me strange as if I was talking complete nonsense. I tell them why it would be worth it to own some even if its a small fraction, but they just don't care unless you mention you can make money with it- I have given up on trying to make people aware on Bitcoin anymore, I just don't care and only worry about me. Most people aren't simply mentally ready for what a decentralized p2p currency constitutes.

I do tell people about bitcoin if I think they would be interested, because I think its worth it for them to know.

i dont do it online. at my campus we had a booth set up for bitcoin, and we showed bitcoin to people and helped them set up wallets. its not like a thousand people signed up so getting scammed wasnt really an issue.

Definitely. It's every bitcoiners duty to spread the word to get mutual benefits. If you do not speak on bitcoin to your close relatives, after  bitcoins' big price they will scold you when they hear your benefits from bitcoin. So, spread word on bitcoin. Accepting or not, that's their rights.

i try to explain bitcoin to as many people that i know as i can. but you have to accept that some of them are simply not interested in it. and the people who are insterested will get more in depth information about purchasing their first coins, the wallet, how the network works, and what the minders do.

I am gonna do a garage sale.  Post it in the local paper with "bitcoin accepted".

You guys gave me an idea too.  Maybe make a youtube video of the garage sale and show how easy it is to accept payment.

I tried to teach my friends to use bitcoin, and get 5 friends which have been used.
I also shared about how bitcoin will be the future of money on my social media.
Also start to build a merchant which accept bitcoin too.

All good points.

The best way I've personally experienced to spread the word is to wear a Bitcoin shirt or cap. I get asked by at least one person about half the time I wear it, "What is Bitcoin?" Since they brought it up, I don't sound cultish.

I've also sent BTC to non-techie friends and relatives as a way to hopefully get them to see how great BTC is, but they've treated it as an investment.

So, the shirt has worked best for me. I custom-made it on a t-shirt website. It's a black t-shirt with "bitcoin" in orange Ubuntu font (the official font).

Still, what you've all hit on is the root issue: most people don't know about Bitcoin. They can't use it if they don't know about it. Bitcoin needs an advertising campaign. It would benefit everyone. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1160780.0

Yep, all the time but the problem is that no one listens, I’m not the most persuasive person, you know. So I’ll try to spread the word on the internet.

Honestly I dont want to spread the word about bitcoin until I get hold of atleast 100 or more bitcoin. Ask me why.Because the more people join in the more hard it would become for people like me to earn bitcoin. I think all those who are promoting bitcoin are the one who possesses considerable amount of bitcoin and they want to gain by creating a bearish market for bitcoin

I try to, some people get it while others don't.

Those that know that I am invested in Bitcoin occasionally ask me how things are going, or when there has been significant news on Bitcoin or on the stock markets they ask how the price of Bitcoin has been affected etc.

Well, ever since i started my aim was to get as many people as possible to join in and partcipate. I have to admit everything does not always go as planned. I think most important thing here is apart from telling all the positive sides people also need to know the negatives ones as well. So there is always the disclaimer part.
