Does anyone here know of an individual or company which provides VPN access payable in bitcoin?

I can recommend oVPN.to, they accept Bitcoins, usually via an automatic exchange, currently only by sending a mtgox voucher manually to them, but I guess/hope that's gonna be changed back soon

I recommend Mullvad, it's simple and is easy to pay with Bitcoin. Their servers are in the Netherlands I believe. They do not log any data at all.

Why don't you just get your own VPS and setup your own VPN on it. We offer very cheap VPS unit's that would work perfectly for this.
