is it illegal to run "bit coin only" gambling sites like as primedice in the us?
If not how do sites like primedice still exist?
Dose the us gov see BTC as money?
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Primedice is not in the US.

It's not clear whether it's legal to run bitcoin only business in US, but a lot of sites are blocking US ip addresses to avoid trouble.

That's the wise thing to do if you want to avoid trouble. US regulators can be quite aggressive to enforce their lobby induced laws

I get the picture, but couple that with the fact that poker is a skill game since 2011 you would have a decent  argument in front of the judge. Not to mention these sites are not hosted in USA. And if so how will you catch them with bitcoins? There is NO merchant account set up or BANKS which is the illegal factor. Does this help?

Is is currently not illegal , and is a grey area. Satoshi Dice shutdown to US customers, to avoid any risks in future.

PD?

Whats that? Have you had a chance to look at sealswclubs? They are out daily and are not hiding. What is illegal about poker which was sought as a skilled game in 2011 by a FEDRAL JUDGE, and coins that the FEDS DONT want as a REAL currency? Also keep in mind none of these site are hosted in the USA? I would assume not anyway.

^ If you try going to the PrimeDice site with a US IP address, it doesn't let you access the website. It's a gray area, and overall, just easier to avoid US IP addresses for such gambling sites.

I reckon technically no but anything is illegal if they decide it is 1 day and let you know after saying you are enabling money laundering or something.
