Found my COYE wallet the other day holding some 2.5 Million COYEs.  Now is this just bit dust on my hard drive or shall I keep it or shall I send them Kayne W. to pay his debts?  What's the status of the community?  After three years any exchange for this coin?

Good question, I have no idea, but I think there are some smaller exchanges that have it traded.

I just know there were some minor exchanges back then after it was released and nobody wanted to put it on a major exchange due to legal actions threatened by Kayne W.  Then somebody released a pre-alpha-state exchange just for this coin: it turned out to be scam.  Lot of things went wrong with this coin -- even though it was fun to participate.  But:  how about today?  Any exchange now?  Is the community somehow alive?  No dev on the core since 3 years.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

No Coinye fine. Crypto's can't die, remember?

There's usually a handful of active nodes. You can find them at coinye.net

Yeah but I remember the main developer was sued By Kanye west it could happen again so it's better to let this coin die, there's a lot of good coin with no issues that's going to encounter along the way,why bother with something that's an issue attach to it,better forget this coin .
