Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

hey i am new to bit coin, can i use my reg home dual core pc to mine.

Mining is not very useful just invest in more expensive ASIC and surely you will earn more !!!or just buy a cloud mining contract..BTC

Mining is very useful. It creates new blocks, and so puts unconfirmed transactions into blockchain the ledger.

Mining is not very profitable, because of the high difficulty and the rapid increasing rate.
Please make sure you check a profit calculator and check the site trustworthiness before buying an ASIC or a cloud mining contract.
