As it stands now I still haven't heard back from the dev and I don't know who owns the majority of the coins.

So I'm a bit reluctant to do a takeover of the original coin. Right now I'd be leaning towards setting everything up and launching a GIMPv2 of some sort and do a swap. Only need to find an exchange that agrees to host this swap.

Probably double the coin count and do a small ICO so we can raise some funds for basic infrastructure and make a small donation to the devs.

If anyone has any ideas or comments feel free to share

I'd just be happy to see it survive in any form. Surprised the original dev disappeared, all those features must have taken quite a bit of work. Pre-mine wasn't dumped either.

In a way I was hoping the original dev might reappear once there was talk of a takeover. Doesn't look like that'll be happening, so I fully support your plan.

Yeah, that was my hope too. Baiting him with the takeover announcement. After all it's gonna be a lot of work, especially the direction I wanna go in and the new features.

However I'm fully committed to revive the coin's original spirit cause the community was just such a happy place with its own little niche.

Yes it does haha. Is it GarlicCoin? Is it GuineaCoin? No one knows.

Preparations looking good, basic developments for the new features have begun and if all goes well we should see a launch some time next week. Just wanna make sure we can hold all the promises we give when the coin is released.

Hey everyone,

takeover and coinswap is still on.

It's only me and the dev but we are already running the testnet right now and just wanna be sure that everything is working properly as we want to release a working update (entitled "fence") very closely after the coin swap. We're a bit behind on the branding issue but that's not a main concern.

I contacted CCex and they showed interest. I haven't had time to fulfill their request of a Skype session but I'll make sure to get it done over the weekend if I can get a hold of them.

If everyone who is in support of the project could somehow get in contact with CCex, either via trollbox or email that would help. Like I said, it's just us two until we can attract some more people. Any support is welcome.
