I have hot wired mine into the ATX power supply of my PC. Given the hash rate, I use mine to solo mine. aka - a lottery.

By hot wired do you mean wiring the supplied Pci-e cable to the ATX power supply?

I connect mine to the 12v pin and ground pin of a molex connector and that works fine. After 7 days of running steady all connections are cool.

If you don't want to use a PC PSU to power it you could look into a 12V/5A power brick - that should work to power the R-Box.
