Probably a dumb question. Couldn't find a primer anywhere.

But in the summary on GUIMiner, what do Accepted mean? Are those blocks or should those be earner Bitcoins?

if solo mining, it means a block. if pooled mining, it just means a share.

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
