I think the guy who just bought 6,600,000,000.00 microBTC with a mere 1,000,000.00 USD is laughing his ass off.

Have many of you guys invested in the alts as well as BTC ?

Their capacity to double is much quicker than BTC and as they're traded in BTC they take advantage of BTC rise plus the rise of their own traded price.

There is certainly an opportunity for short term profits in alts, but I don't believe there is much of a fundamental case to be made for them. At best I expect one or two alts surviving as some kind of Bitcoin mixer, but that's not enough to risk losing any BTC over them.

Poking sleeping bears with a short stick isn't wise.

...just saying.  Cheesy

These bears are dead, not sleeping Smiley

I'm behind you, with horns made of paper mache.  Wink

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they keep laughing, then they start choking on their laughter, and then they go and catch their breath. Then they start laughing even more.

Pretty much.

I have some NMC left over from Slush's pool.  They actually have some usefulness distinct from BTC.  And as a mixer... yes.

My theory is that big buyers wait for the walls to build up to minimize slippage. They like getting a lot of BTC at roughly the same price.

Yes, it's much better to wait for the asks to fill while the price goes up by $10 so you can buy 5000 BTC at $160 instead of every price point between $150 and !$158  Roll Eyes

Not strictly better, no, just lower risk. I'm sure there are bots out there set to pull asks when a lower one sells in order to capitalize on big market orders.
