Price tends to rise in anticipation, the announcement is built in. If it's bigger than anticipated, it could continue upward, otherwise there is good reason it could go down.

imho i think it's a small bite for those who started to eat at 11.10, and at the very least have to get to 13 or more to be satisfied 
but why it is concerned only to raise the price? expected of the big buyers? 
in any case, all this is very funny !

Sure, after the conference is over and no immediate effects derived from any announcements made can be expected, price will go down. Thats AFTER the conference.

At least till Monday, I expect a steady rise and/or up spikes, depending on the news that are generated on the conference.

@ Gavin's BIG announcement: I think expectations are overly inflated, especially after Gavin himself warned that many people may be disappointed, because what they thought it may be is not what it turned out to be in the end. I think it will be something nice, related to the scource code, but not as big as some people imagine, e.g. major retailer adoption or favorable legislation in some country,..
