Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I don't know. Someone is definitely manipulating the ask walls, and pretty effectively judging by the last hour and change.

it feels like a dump could happen any moment, but until it does we are moving up.

and when the dump does happen, price will bounce back fast.

i have no clue why... that's just the feeling i get, the market is under extreme pressure both ways and UP is winning hands down.

I have absolutely no proof to back this up, but it looks like someone w/ a decent amount of backing is putting up walls to pressure price down, buying @ a reduced rate, removing some of the wall, letting price bounce back up, selling a bit at the higher rate, then throwing down another wall to pressure price back down. Just the impression i get from watching for the past few hours while i stare at my screen at work.

Game theory says you are wrong. Study it before you say anything else: http://academicearth.org/courses/game-theory

Which bit is wrong?  The price discovery and rational picture?

I know a little bit about Game Theory but am not conversant in it.

All of it.

Well I suggest you study it because it pretty much can explain most of how the world works.

All of it.

So you think that the price action is fully priced and the actors have all the information to be rational?

I'm skeptical.

Well I suggest you study it because it pretty much can explain most of how the world works.

I'm a keen student and will delve deeper, but the notion of  "A theory for everything" is not a good sales pitch.
Human history is littered with "theories for everything."

Thanks for the heads up.

All of it.

So you think that the price action is fully priced and the actors have all the information to be rational?

I'm skeptical.

It's impossible to have all the information. But they do all have the same information and most will be able to draw the same conclusions.

Well I suggest you study it because it pretty much can explain most of how the world works.

I'm a keen student and will delve deeper, but the notion of  "A theory for everything" is not a good sales pitch.
Human history is littered with "theories for everything."

Thanks for the heads up.

Game theory doesn't tell you what will happen just what is likely to happen given what is the best strategy out of all the available strategies in the game that is being being played, the players and the available information.
