They could also be trying to intimidate the price down so that they can increase their position at a better price. Dumping into this market has been risky lately and may result in a net loss for them. The question is, are they walls of benevolence or walls of intimidation?

If the intent was to induce selling panic, no reason to pull the walls once the price started to fall below 20.00. The panic was just starting to form at this point, the best action to boost it was to move walls closer. Instead, the walls were pulled. So I stand by my analysis.
So. Sell or buy?

Interesting, I didn't see that happen, I thought the walls disappeared from buying pressure.

Why the manipulation theories?

Occam's razor says it is someone who has acquired a lot of BTC and wants to to sell, for whatever reason, at $21.00

the number of pages on this thread is obnoxious! OP, why don't you create a new "2013" thread?

Images are not allowed. As your member rank increases, you can use more types of styling in your signature, and your signature can be longer. See the stickies in Meta for more info.

Agreed. And it's amazing to see how the market is less and less impressed by scare tactics (for now at least) Cheesy

The reason is that no one is stupid enough to think they will sell that much at a single price. They know a wall that size stops the market rising, or falling, near instantly, just like everyone else knows it. In all the time BTC has been around with these super 40k+ BTC walls, they are never eaten into in a significant way. If they really wanted to sell they would spread it out over a range, or dump in smaller chunks that don't crash the market.

Not everyone knows that "fact". At least I have to admit I didn't, so I guess I am stupid by your definition.

What if it is the Avalon guys? They have better things to do than study the BTC market. From what I have read they believe in Bitcoin and have time to wait until BTC passes through $21.00

No we know that, your stash is still where it should be  Wink

I was just wondering if you had another 1M USD under your pillow so you could buy up this annoying wall at $21.00 for us.

Thanks a lot  Smiley

Edit: actually you only need about 800K so you have 200K left you could spend on Litecoin

This could lead to stability instead of a panic. Manipulators should be proud.

if bitcoin stabilizes at 20 for months, like it did at 5, i might reconsider my position ...

Game is over. People have figured you out.

Right now everyone knows that you are calling for the exact opposite of what you're preaching...  Smiley

You're gonna have to change your tactics (hint: get bullish and I will start selling)

After careful consideration, i have concluded that bitcoins potential is HUGE, and it has become clear with resent developments that we are in fact headed toward mainstream adoption, it is no longer a matter of if but when!
this is why i have recently bought back my bitcoins at a loss, and am now sending my life savings to the exchange.
at this point it is clear that their is no risk at all, bitcoins value is sure to rise to new highs very soon.

 Cool
