BREAKING:

MT.GOX KEEPING BITCOIN VALUE ARTIFICIALLY HIGH WITH OWN FUNDS

Wow, what the actual fuck is wrong with you? You were posting all day about how bitcoins are going to 1000, now you're posting this shit. Fuck you.

... you think i like this ?? i wanna get out as fast as possible but im blocked by mtgox using their centralized power to block me to get back in USD..

mt.gox is forcing their power upon the bitcoin network while the protocol promises such a thing is not possible

in the least i should be able to speculate that mt.gox is also forcing the prices up so to make it look like its not some big issue while it is.. and i'm the one being 'fuck you-ed'? it should be the central powers here of bitcoin

If you believe MtGox is the only way to sell bitcoins, you are blind or stupid.

Man, I put like 5 bitcoins on "bitcoin won't have a $5 daily drop before march 15". Not liking my odds now  Undecided

I don't think this will break bitcoin or anything, but it could set us back a few months.

I had some too

thats the wrong side of the bet. if you're holding coins and u want to hedge against a drop u should have been on the other side Tongue

now wondering if they're using the CLOSING price

if they're just comparing the HIGH vs the LOW then you lost sucka

It is the closing prices, but still not liking my odds.

As of now; 10 minutes lag from GOX trading engine !!!

edit:
Almost 15 minutes now without trading data!

{"result":"success","return":{"lag":1081055125,"lag_secs":1081.055125,"lag_text":"18 minutes"}}

64 Cores (so they say).  Let us be REALLY conservative and say they're 2Ghz Processors.

2,000,000,000 (instructions per second) * 64 (cores) * 60 ( seconds) * 18 (minutes) = 138,240,000,000,000 Instructions.

Yes, that's right, it will apparently take the Gox Server 138.24 TRILLION Calculations before it can match your trade.  Seriously efficient trading engine, I tell you.

Enigma

So glad I moved exchanges.  What a surprise.  Gox is a steaming pile of dog dung again..

the news needs to spread, newbies will not be so quick to hit the buy button once they learn about this, the effects of this will last a long time...

I'm saying buy back at $12.... anyone in their right mind is going to dump their coin. When it hits the 20's I think a lot of people will panic.

Everybody is blowing this way out of proportion, I'm buying if we drop just a tiny bit lower. Once people realize it wasn't all that bad, we'll start rallying again as people start buying back in.

I think there are too many people long on bitcoin waiting to jump in for it to go much lower and certainly not going to wait 48 hours.
