Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

74.9!

Not enough people selling.

Would it be bad if the market ran out of sellers for a while ?

I think the afterburner is about to kick in on this rocket ship! I think red-bull needs to drop their current mascot and just substitute the Bitcoin logo... or we could just rename Bitcoin to Bullcoin! haha

Holding steady at 74.450 now.

I think our definition of "steady" has become quite warped over the last few weeks.

No kidding. I'd be significantly out before then. I could take care of everyone in my immediate family (pay off their debts) and set my mom and pop up in a house that is fully paid for.

Don't forget the fact that you lose half in taxes  Sad

I can't get a straight answer on this.

Some people say 15%, some say 50%.

Then someone rolls in and flames the shit out of everyone for thinking about paying taxes, lol.

It's going to vary as you have state and federal taxes, but assuming 30-40% for $250k or less will probably get you in the ballpark.

Hopefully by this point I can just pay for their house in Bitcoin then.  Wink

Guys, you remember when we all dreamed of the far distant day of getting to a new ATH?

Good times.

why does it seem such a long time ago, though. Is there a psychological explanation for this?

I meant it mostly as a joke, but we humans do have a crazy ability to adapt to new situations quickly and expect it to continue to be that way indefinitely.
