Then I moved up to a Vic 20 when those came out- what a powerhouse! And COLOR even! Pretty sure I paid more for that Vic 20 setup (with the fancy tape recorder and extra memory, IO adapter, etc) than I have in my current rig.
That's...that's a computer Huh

Yes, from Sinclair. They made an expensive digital watch also. The watch would cost about $5.00 today but was expensive for back in the 70's when you consider how much that amount of money would be worth today.

I used to have a Vic 20. I think a 4 KB memory card cost me $400. Wow, those were the days!  Shocked

He's gotta be ex sec or prosecutor. He's got many many connections and reports sec news. Homero ganza is extra fucked.

You don't just pop up on the internet in september 2014 for the first time ever. Something seems very strange about this.

I am nowhere to be found on the Internet as my real ID.  I don't have facebook, twitter or any other social netwoks in my real name.   I lurk.  I don't publish any aspect of my life online.

I think over the next 5-10 years this tactic will be vindicated with what this current Internet is turning into.

I used to have a Vic 20. I think a 4 KB memory card cost me $400. Wow, those were the days!  Shocked

Indeed. I had at least $1,200 in my VIC 20 rig, and we are talking 1982 dollars, which were a lot bigger than today's and for me mainly came from trudging through the snow carrying sacks of "newspapers" (These were big, heavy rolls of ground up dead trees with the day's lies printed on them for our younger forum members who may not know what those were). Today I am sporting an FX-4170 / Sabertooth 16 GB rig with  1+ TB of SSD that cost a LOT less than that.

On topic: Whether Mr. Ganza paid for that "leaked" email news story or not isn't the real issue to me. What matters is that it is serving his interests perfectly with perfect timing to deflect any of the blame for not being able to deliver on his promises. Maybe he is the worlds luckiest idiot, but since there are large sums of money (and also possible criminal charges) involved my guess is that the latest "leaks" were in fact intentional. Tie that with his latest hints at preparing to bail from GAW and start yet another scam company and there is no doubt in my mind about what is transpiring.

P.S: As someone else mentioned a while back, Homero has FREAKED out every time there was the tiniest bit of bad press about his scam, and this time he is all happy and smug. This is because it is exactly what he wanted(needed) at this time.

The dates on the emails are January 30th and 31st.

In my eyes, even if he is playing that game, and leaking emails to people he knows will send them on, he seems to have expected more focus on the "stepping down" and "fighting to get the $20 paycoin repayment project going", which he could use.  In fact, I am almost certain at this point that he was using it to try to manipulate the group of people he released it to, by seeming like he was fighting the good fight.

However, the interesting part to me, and it seems to Coinfire, was the admission of an SEC investigation.  I can't see how that could benefit him in any way.

He had to admit the investigation was happening to use it as an excuse for the honors program not starting. Everything they do is excuses, blame shifting, and new ideas to kick the can down the road again.

he thought "it's the big bad government's fault I couldn't start the program on feb 1" would buy him a little more time, but people have been waiting too long to get their money back, patience is wearing thin.

Ignoring the whole "we lied about the SEC investigation" thing as if it doesn't affect anything. No mention of buyback anymore. Just recently the whole team was working on the buyback program, now "the majority of the team is focused on merchant on boarding and building merchant tools.". Amazingly XPY is not crashing. So that shows that nobody really believed in the buyback to begin with, but I still don't get where the $1 valuation is coming from. Surely nobody could be as foolish as to trust that the "team" can release something that works and find blind and deaf cavemen to sign up as merchants.

Suchmoon,  earlier you said you'd post the info explaining how you knew about the big Mississippi data center (its existence and location) as soon as you could get to an acceptable computer. Can you please post that info today?

I probably had that much in my Vic 20 also. When I paid the $500 to upgrade from a tape drive to a floppy disk with 144k of storage I was in hog heaven. I could not think of why someone would possibly need more storage than that. It sure was a lot better than waiting for the tape to load. I still cannot remember those long commands we needed to load from tape or disk. Maybe we should start a thread to reminisces about all our old computers and video games. I can still remember my Vic-20, Atari 800, Intellivision and best of all Odyssey game machine with the plastic TV  overlays.   Roll Eyes I am sure Homero is too young to know anything about that stuff!

Bit difficult without the context though this is fairly obvious

Lawyer: stop bullshitting your customers with fake promises you are creating a libaility and should step down
It: woe be me  Roll Eyes

So does Homero now have 3 law groups, in house council "dave", Mizz van Cleef and a third, the one he refers to as to having been given the go-ahead, to Dave his in house council?

Steel reeks of a classic Homero setup to wipe his nose clean.

Wonder what Mizz van Cleef is going to feel like, with her big and serious law firm, her big and serious affiliation to BTC, to having this rinky-dink client splattering her emails all over the internetz. Wasn't the previous lawyer representing him, the legal council to BTC Foundation ostracized to the point he no longer represents this altcoin wunderkind Homero?

Two things I am sure of after reading these "Emails"

1: Homero "Josh" Garza did NOT  write them.
2: They are intentionally and skillfully designed to deflect blame for the coming planned implosion of GAW/Paycoin away from the criminal(s) who designed and implemented the whole scam and leave this scumbag and his minions in the clear.

"Shucks guys, I tried so very hard to hand out bushels of $20 bills to everyone, but the gall darned Gubment and Lawyers would not let me! If I can't do that then I am RESIGNING!"

The BULLSHIT meter is WAY off the fucking chart here. What a lying scumbag.

what if mike johnson isn't who we think he is? What if the owner of coinfire actually works for the SEC?

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:ifLCnyQEAH4J:https://twitter.com/mjohnsonbtc/status/513985493050982401+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

twitter says he's in Washington DC.

Why does mjohnsonbtc/coinfiremike not exist anywhere on the internet prior to september 2014? I can understand that maybe coinfire was created in late 2014, but surely the owner/founder had some internet presence before then?

also, wtf is this? http://mike.ml/

He's gotta be ex sec or prosecutor. He's got many many connections and reports sec news. Homero ganza is extra fucked. Coinfire basically confirmed my suspicions earlier. This is good though, even more credible. I just hope coinbrief discloses any xpy holdings if needed .

It is amazing the connections you can make in college if you are social and try to hang out with diverse crowds and you date a lot Wink
social butterflies like yourself usually have more than 24 facebook friends... unless of course "mike johnson" isn't your real name Smiley

Totally my real name but I reset my social media account to no longer be tied with my former Facebook profile. It is important to me that sources aren't compromised under any circumstances so I have taken steps to silo off my life.

I really wanted to write, it was something I was extremely passionate about for a long time before starting Coin Fire and I always figured I'd try to do everything right up front that I could. I've made some mistakes and some days I wish I hadn't full on deleted versus deactivating my old Facebook profile.... then I realize how much more productive I am without status updates and pictures of friends who have started families and feel the need to share constant kid pictures Wink

Surely you can see how it seems as if everything that you report just so happens to also coincide around GAW releases, announcements, etc. and drives free traffic to them. Whether it is hashlets, PayBase, CC purchases/Stripe, to now giving him a "see, look at what's going on" Honors Program excuse days after he dropped seeds of doubt about some issues.

So let's examine some facts:
Everything you report has some kind of plausible deniability on Josh's end.
There's nothing "concrete", ever.
You keep saying there's more.
You didn't exist on the internet before this summer.

Sound familiar? Sounds exactly like GAW's business model to me. Everything you "report" sends and stirs up more traffic than that scamming piece of shit deserves.

Sorry but it all seems a little too convenient to me.

I understand your concerns but we've reported on a plethora of other topics outside of GAW. We reported extensively on SEC involvement with 2.0 companies, we reported extensively on the BFL raid and subsequent court movements, we've reported on things such as Coinjelly, we've reported on a wide range of merchant acceptance and other topics.

It isn't fair to say that Coin Fire covers only GAW things. We've reported on a large selection of items and the GAW posts are no where near the biggest traffic drivers for us.

A lot of people have asked for more transparency and I think we've done a great job of balancing source confidence and documents. We've published a commitment to sharing our editorial and contributor bibles on GitHub, we've shared how we vet sources and really tried to bring some transparency to the space.

We don't take money for articles, we have fully disclosed a large number of things that many of our peers in tech journalism haven't (not bitcoin specific) and have been working to even a greater level of accountability and responsibility. Things take time, we are a small team, we have a limited budget and I was not a journalist by trade prior to this so it will take some learning as well.

We are working pretty hard and diligently to bring ALL of the cryptocurrency news that we can. We don't publish things that are widely reported when possible, we try to keep it to mostly original pieces and we have a large number of stories in the works that aren't GAW related. Some of these stories are in the third or fourth month of investigation and we want to make sure we get everything right.

We are going to keep reporting on the topics that we receive and vet information on, the topics that our readers have asked for and the stories we feel are the most newsworthy. I hate saying keep watching because it seems like an empty promise but we have kept our promises and published materials as we can previously and will keep doing so in the future.

I'm long on reporting the news because I've discovered this is something I am truly passionate about and a space where some disruption is always good Wink

I am not totally convinced that you're not an SEC employee. Someone with such a passion for crypto and bitcoin doesn't just show up 6 months ago and start throwing haymakers saying you've got an SEC source. Not trying to be rude here, but why would the SEC leak information to CoinFire? I can understand if you were the wallstreet journal, but some guy at the SEC is going to risk his job to satisfy the need of a tiny news website that most of the world hasn't ever heard of?

My predictions from November 5.   So far 8/11 correct.

How did I know he would turn on his lawyers to explain the coming implosion?   If anyone believes that the "blame it on the lawyers" schtick is legit, then ask yourself how I knew it would come to this back in early November?  The answer is, its not legit and it was predictable as hell because the whole thing is a scam.

Feel free to send rewards for correctly guessing Josh's intent, plan and outcome to the BTC address in my profile. Sorry, XPY not accepted here.

(1) Zenpool will continue to suck and possibly get worse

Check plus.  Shutdown already.

Quote
(2) Hashpoint pool will continue to generate record hashpoint returns, forcing prime and zen owners to move to hashpoint mining (which is of course non-existent)

Check.  Add in the hyperinflation and hashtakers and the prediction is scary close.

Quote
(3) Relieved of the requirement of making BTC payouts, GAW will be able to fix some of the more glaring red flags (like the constant inability to withdraw, maintenance down times, etc.) which are related to the fact that GAW is not yet actually mining anything.

Miss.  I guess I was assuming GAW wanted to actually have a real company but it looks now like Josh is happy to pack up and leave.

Quote
(4) GAW will launch its round 1 ICO, which will force hashpoint conversions into hashcoin, but that is no skin out of GAW's hide since its all premining.

96% premining to be exact.

(5) GAW will announce that its lawyers/investors/retail partners (pick one or more) have decided that selling hashcoin for fiat is problematic legally, so they cannot do it.  GAW will advise users to exchange hashcoin on the exchanges; maybe will even have a deal with one or more exchanges to make this automatic.

Check plus ... Sorry, FinCEN makes Paybase a no-go.  Gyft for Bitcoin from XPY was a fail.  Ugh.  Lets just buy coin-swap for liquidity.  There you go!

Quote

(6) Hashcoin on the exchanges will be nearly worthless.

Check-minus.  Currently a plaything for traders, but at .004 BTC still far below what GAW promised
and promoted.

Quote
(7) GAW will apologize and blame the whole mess on the U.S. legal regulatory system and/or its lawyers/investors/retail partners who just don't "get it"

Check-plus, damn straight.  SEC investigation, lawyers who keep Josh out of legal meetings.  None of it is Josh's fault.  Stupid U.S. legal system makes it so hard to commit securities fraud and banking violations.  Maybe next time try somewhere without them pesky laws and lawyers.  Hate that.

Quote
(Cool GAW will come up with some other plan/scheme to monetize hashcoin... and in the meantime will allow users to buy hashlets for hashcoin.

Check.  Honor Program scam.

Quote
(9) In the meantime, GAW will be able to buy real mining machines since its payouts on hashlets are ll in worthless hashcoin/hashpoints, which allows GAW to use its mining and hashlet sales to actually purchase hardware.

Check-minus.  Predicted the 4 Phs deal with Bitmaintech using money from the Hashlet sales, but failed to predict that GAW would shut down mining (!?) altogether and sell off the miners.

Quote
(10) GAW, if they do not blow up legally, might eventually succeed in becoming a cloud mining company with real miners.  Since its users bought in at $16-49 per mhs, and by December prices for ASICs will be down to $5/mhs... there is plenty of room for GAW to transition to a real cloud mining company using customers money ... as long as they can stave off withdrawals and payouts for a couple more months.  Of course hashlets will be worth $5 / mhs by then too.

Missed big time on this one!  Again, my mistake was thinking that GAW/Josh wanted to end up as a legitimate company.  Oops.

Quote
(11) Hashcoin will end up where GAW started - as a loyalty program.

TBD.  Remains to be seen, if GAW survives XPY will probably be accepted by a few loyalists and/or big investors on some kind of a loyalty program.  That is, IF GAW survives which seems less and less likely.

This is really interesting.... AnimoEsto

You are a new account, you have only posted in THIS THREAD, and you're leaking emails from josh garza. You also have a cloud mining startup in your signature.

You are Josh Garza.

That email really persuades me that Garza has deliberately leaked this.   This email contains all the excuses he needs to bail.  Very convenient. Too convenient.
