I got an antminer s3.  Initially was able to login, but the device never connnected to the interenet for some reason.  I changed a setting to DHCP and now I can't login to the miner from 192.168.1.99.  Any ideas what I have done?

truck,

If your local network is not on 192.168.1.x network then the antminer will pick up an address from that ip range.

Guessing that you are using a Windows PC...go to a command prompt (click Start>Run) and type cmd and press enter.
You should get a command prompt
Type ipconfig and press enter
That will show you the ip address of your PC. If you are on say 192.168.0.x then your PC will have an address of something like 192.168.0.2
You will need to find the ip that the ant picked up from your DHCP server but don't worry it's easier than it sounds...just ping a few ip addresses starting from the next number up from what your PC has. So for example...
ping 192.168.0.4
ping 192.168.0.5
etc. etc.

Depending on how many devices are on your home network there may be a few ip's that show a reply.  Anything that says 'request timed out' or 'host unreachable' is an ip not in use.

When find one that pings pop open your browser and try to connect.

ig

EDIT: Forgot to mention if this is a new miner and you haven't configured it yet anyway you could always just hit the reset button which should put the static address of 192.168.1.99 back onto it.

I only have a signature because I'm allowed.

I tried connecting to it directly and changing my adapter settings to the same default gateway.  For some reason it was working fine plugged into my router.  I changed a setting(can't see it anymore) in the antminer menu to DHCP and it disconnected.  The problem I was having is it wasn't mining when I entered my pool settings and I think I did something terrible now.  Cant get anything from 192.168.1.99.  I did not change the IP address.  I tried resetting it.  I held down the reset switch with the power on and it didn't seem to help either.  There is a red light on top and a green light on bottom that stay on.
