It just gets annoying how much the site goes down and no real customer service on Bitcoin Talk. However I think the guy behind SafeDice has been 100% honest with everyone

Yes I have been following the site pretty much for the last few years.

It has alot of issues but the owner isn't a scam artist.

My guess is, like with most men. He opened up the site years ago out of pure boredom, then he found a girlfriend, then married her, then had 1 kid, and then another kid and basically no time anymore to maintain the site.

It made good revenue probably in the past but not enough for him to quit his dayjob and do it full time. Hence why the updates and support is very slow.

It would be better for him to sell the business to someone else than letting it die.

Not everyone are going to let their creation sold to someone who does not really know what is on the inside or even how to manage it well. It will ruin their trust, if I can say, better to let them find a support team to help maintain their thread and site as well to make sure they will still exist on bitcoin world. I know safedice for a very long time ago and yet they can't keep on competing with others because of lacking their support

In the business world you don't sell your business when its growth is slowing... you sell it when its growth is expanding.

I am sure the owner regrets not selling when BTC was at $20K and there was explosive growth in the gambling field.

However with the slow support and fading customer base, its a bad time for him to sell. Because the buyer will most likely read this thread for the last 8 months or so and see how many customers went elsewhere due to the bad support of this site.

I don't think selling is even an option here. To do it properly, admin would have to reach out to every single player and get their permission to transfer funds to new operator, that they don't know and don't trust. Site doesn't even require email addresses, so there's no communication channel on the line Operator --> users.

BTW, if hot wallets are being topped up and server issues resolved, that would mean that admin is still somewhat active. Maybe he just gave up bitcointalk. Just a thought.

Yes, I agree with you, the problem right now is not about the site but it is about their management on how they solve this thing. Many people already asked them to get more support team to manage their site and thread, with this being helped, then admin can be rest a little just focus on developing their game. But until this day, there is no support or any help from outside too. With current situation, I just can ask others to be patient, nothing can you guys do

The hot wallet running out of funds and being refilled is an easy task pretty much. The admin probably just scans his Trezor and sends more funds over to the hot wallet. Takes maybe a few seconds or a minute.

The more serious issues are however more time consuming and the admin takes his time on those. And people eventually get fed up and once they get access to their funds they withdraw and use another website instead since there are tons out there.

The admin needs to hire some low level support, someone who is in charge of the tickets and gets specific permissions to the server and can handle the minor issues. And with any major issues arrives they can be passed on to the admin for help.

There was a quite big drop in the bankroll some weeks ago, from 192 to 82 BTC (https://dicesites.com/safedice). I wonder what happened...

Maybe some of the investors decided to invest their funds somewhere else.

I actually think that the decline in the bankroll is simply caused by the fact
that one user won ~60 BTC a few weeks ago. Therefore I´d argue that
investors just lost to the player and weren´t willing to replenish
their investments.

Given the fact that the site has lost popularity it would take a very long
time to make back that many BTC by investing.

Check the "Total profit" graph on dicesites.com for SafeDICE, it confirms
my theory.

Pretty sure he's referring to -60 btc loss shown on 9th June 2018 (see dicesites for reference) and to whatever happened then.

And isn't it a bit strange that you decided to bump up this thread by replying to a 2 week old post, just to accuse a guy of hyping the site...

For those who cares this was the roll: https://safedice.com/bets/334793933  only 50 BTC won (not 60) but still a huge amount.

True is we can't prove that wasn't an inside job and nobody confirmed the funds were successfully withdrawn.
But honestly, if I ever win such amount I'll stay silent as well. Would make some noise only in case of withdrawal issues.

I wasn´t hyping the site at all. In fact I stated that the site has
lost popularity, which is basically the opposite of hyping the site.

Besides, I have commented in numerous threads regarding SafeDICE that
the support response times are horrible and users often have to wait for weeks
even if they have a serious request like funds that are "hanging in limbo".

I wouldn´t recommend gambling or investing at SafeDICE unless the admin
improves the support drastically.

Thanks for clarifying. That's an insane bet with multiplier exceeding x956. Similar thing happened before (some Russian guy almost wiped out entire bankroll), so no wonder if some investors lost their confidence and cashed out.

Out of curiosity, how did you manage to find the bet id? Is there a record of high bets on SD anywhere, or did you searched manually?

I'm watching my investments and noticed this huge swing. Tried to figure what happened and this bet was still visible in high rollers table so I made a bookmark because I found it interesting.

Ouch.

The good news is, admin will likely be able to help you.
The bad news - admin is inactive lately.

Just keep sending email every week or so until you get a reply. That's all you can do.

You can also try cc in different email: safedice@protonmail.ch (noted in the first post of this thread)

No one knows. Don't set your hopes high for this one. On this forum admin was last active on 25 March 2018, so very long time ago. But site is still up and issues like empty hot wallets seem to be getting resolved, so he must be somewhat active.
