Just an update.  I paid off a couple of the NastyMining lenders who wished to receive a 70% final payout now instead of waiting longer for another BFL refund.  I also purchased a spare 1300watt PSU in case we get some new equipment.

I'd like to have our monthly live chat on April 2nd 3rd, at 12:00pm PST.  I am looking forward to it.

If you are mining with NastyPool and you registered your miner then you probably notice that the P2Pool shares are not tracking correctly. This is broken since a long time. It is only a display issue. It is fixed now.

When you sign in you will see your counted P2Pool shares on the home screen. All shares since 2014-03-17 are counted. It does not matter if you use NastyPoP or P2Pool payout methods. It does not matter which node you use.

This information is only interesting for registered NastyPool miners.

So I've finally found some time to try to get the X3 working again after my power outage. I was able to restore the Android system but the mining software was gone.  So I dug and dug and dug and I wound up getting a response from Black Arrow with instructions (and a link) to reflash it.  I downloaded that last night, and formatted a card this morning for it - when I get home I hope to do the flash and hope that nothing is wrong with the hardware!  So hopefully we'll get that back on line tonight or tomorrow...

Either way, I'll post an update

Hey I just finished to read the last chat and I wondering how to work to host miner for the pool.
Im able to host a S5 if needed. I will provide the psu.

Let me know. I can also paid for the shipping and I have multiple fan to run it low.

I prefer to run it around 225-250 freq to get a better watt ratio and lower temp.

Cheer

So, at long last, the X3 Prospero is fixed.  A while back my house lost power and that did something to the Prospero - I wound up having to reflash it and now it's back up and running!!!

I've teamed up with TheAnalogKid to offer a fun prediction game being called NastyKeno.  NastyKeno is a fair and transparent blockchain based game.  Players win by correctly predicting the final character of the block's hash containing the next weekly NastyFans distribution.

NastyKeno is kicking off with a launch promotion provided by TheAnalogKid.  The first 15 incorrect predictions posted to the thread will have 0.01 BTC sent to their sending address.  Good luck!

I checked the website nastyfans.org, but it's a bit unclear to me - is it some kind of cloudmining service or what? You can buy some seats (=shares?) then get dividends based on them or just how it works? Roll Eyes

It should be more clear there.  NastyFans definitely isn't cloudmining.  Seats never expire, don't have costs, and don't depend on mining alone for BTC.

Still don't get it Grin What is this service or security all about... Is there some kind of review or a summary about it, like what does it really mean to buy some seats here Undecided

First off, this is no cloud mining offering, far from it.  Mining is part of the picture, but for different reasons and utilities.

Think of it this way.  You could use the term "fund" if you want to compare it to a traditional fiat-type investment (with one distinction I'll outline below).

1 seat = 1 share in the "fund"

There's 30,000 possible active seats (shares) available in total in the "fund".

If the fund is able to raise 30,000 Satoshi, each seat would get a dividend payback of 1 Satoshi.

The fund attempts to grow it's total BTC holdings by several means.  Currently the main sources of income are sales from physical silver cold-wallet type storage coins, and mining donations.  Several people, myself included, run miners which donate some or all mining proceeds to the fund, which are then distributed as donation payouts to all seats.  A Keno guessing game was just created which we hope will gain interest and bring additional income into the fund.

There are other things being developed which, over time, hope to increase the fund's income significantly, so that your eventual distributions are greater than what you put into it.  By doing that, it should in theory increase the value of the seat you purchased which can then be sold for profit.  For example, you can easily track what you put in, and what your value out is within the user pages on the website.  According to my panel, I'm up about 7% value from what I've invested so far over the past 3 months.

The main difference here is that unlike many of the other "investments" you see around, the fund does not hold onto the BTC it takes in, rather each week a distribution is made to all seat holders for whatever BTC are made during the past week.  This prevents a lot of potential issues other funds see, such as hacked or stolen hot wallets with all proceeds - no one holder has the main stash of BTC funds so it cannot simply be run off with by one person (or a group) thus leaving all the investors with a total loss of investment, etc.

I hope this helps answer your question(s) a little more, but please keep asking as you need to.  There's plenty of people here who believe in seeing this succeed and are willing to help.

Hey @OgNasty or @nonnakip-
I tried buying 3 more seats earlier from the Auction. The total for the 3 was 0.0444 BTC and it gave me my unique payment address. I was on my phone so I copy/pasted the payment address and went to my wallet app where I mistakenly sent 0.04444 BTC instead of the exact 0.0444. (It figures the first time I send a BTC payment without OCD-checking the exact amount and address like 5 times I send a wrong amount...) Anyways I thought it would still register as paid since I sent more than the due payment amount, but here it is ~55 confirmations later and no dice, still on my account page as an unpaid order.

Anyways, it's obviously not a huge deal or a whale amount, but I wanted to post and ask about it before I forgot or it got buried. NastyFans username is same as on here. Thanks

EDIT: OgNasty messaged me with a lightning-fast response- all is well and I will get my seats that I paid for, I never feared I wouldn't with such good people behind the site/organization. Apparently it happens time-to-time when an amount other than the exact listed amount is sent. My fault, this is why I always double-check amount and address a few times before sending.  Tongue

That is ok. Your donation address will receive extra 0.00004 BTC refund with next distribution.

Many phone applications support QR codes. The QR code encodes address and amount to avoid such mistakes. If your phone application supports QR codes you maybe want to try using the QR code next time. People claim it is more fun also!

Apparently it happens time-to-time when an amount other than the exact listed amount is sent.

Actually it has nothing to do with your mistake. The nastyfans auction has a dedicated Bitcoin transaction server. The controller for the hard drive containing the Bitcoin blockchain goes on vacation now and again. When this happens nastyfans no longer processes Bitcoin transactions for the auction.

It is on my list to upgrade the Debian/squeeze installation on the auction Bitcoin transaction server. This maybe fixes the problem. Or I could move the hard drive to a different controller. Right now I do not have time for either. So this problem happens about once a year. Usually in this forum it is mentioned. I was traveling last few days so I could not reset the hard drive until now.

TL;DR: I apologize for the delay. All auction transactions are processed now. Thanks for reporting.
