I would argue that a seat is a seat - and there are plenty of reasons - ie the lottery - we can only see our tickets by logging in. and I get it being terminated but then allow the person to recreate the account.

OgNasty and me are different views here. I encourage all minted seat owners to setup a nastyfans account and register their coins by sending me a private message here or directly with nastyfans.org/post form.

There are many members that only have minted seats. I am one of them.

When you register your minted seat coins you see hold amount on minted seats and you have voting rights to participate in nastyfans decisions.

If you sign in to nastyfans to buy minted seat coins on shop then purchased minted seats automatically register. Only if you purchase minted seat coins anonymously requires manual registration by post to me.

I see some coins (minted seats) still get distributions as of 2021-01-31 (this year) - why do some and not others still receive them?

There are 2 reasons for this.

  • Minted seat coins start receiving donations when minted. Coins are minted when purchased. This means all minted seat coins have different amounts and hit payout thresholds at different times.
  • There are minted seat coins with different amount of seats. A minted seat coin with 1000 seats (1oooNasty address) hits payout threshold one thousand times faster than coin with 1 seat (1Nasty address).

I guess those 2 coins will never reach a withdrawal threshold since the last one (payout) was around 2017?

If Bitcoin trade value keeps so high then you maybe right. This is why I work on feature to trigger payouts of hold amounts for online seats and minted seat coins. When this feature is ready you can trigger payout of hold amounts. I ask for patience.

Keep in mind that hold amounts are small. Unless you own hundreds of minted seat coins it is not so interesting to "flush your held dust".

Block 686117 is mined and lottery winners are known. You sign in to nastyfans to see if you are a winner.

The minted seat collective group won thirteen 1oz minted seat coins. OgNasty will auction these coins and proceeds will distribute equal to all minted seats. (1000 seat coins are not part of minted seat collective.)

If you have winning online seats you must claim your prize. If you have winning online seats you see a button to do claim. For claim you must write full postal address for OgNasty to send your prize.

All prizes not claimed by 4 July are auctioned by OgNasty and proceeds donated to nastyfans.

Verify winning tickets with:

Code:
wget https://nastyfans.org/download/lottery_draw_3.c

gcc lottery_draw_3.c -olottery_draw_3

bitcoin-cli getblock $(bitcoin-cli getblockhash 686117) | grep -A 400 '"tx":' | ./lottery_draw_3  | head -n 100

[edit: clarify results and clarify verify command]

I post with updates of lottery.

My previous post about prize for minted seat collective group were wrong. It is a surprise no one notice. The minted seat collective group has a prize of 11x 1oz coins and 2x 2oz coins. OgNasty auctions these 13 minted seat coins some time and all proceeds from auction go to minted seat addresses. When this happens I post details with distribution amounts.

I also report that OgNasty purchased all coin prizes from nastyfans shop. This results in donation to nastyfans of 0.14368339 BTC. This is distributed at next distribution and will be biggest distribution since August 2018. Thank you to OgNasty and NASTY MINING!

Until now only 25% of winners claim their prize. I will send e-mail and PM to try to contact winners.

curious - as the site states that online purchasers can "mint" their seats why are minted seat owners who register on the site not treated the same as online seat owners.

again - I am only talking about the ones that register.

This is because they are traded on the secondary market and this can't be accurately tracked.  You keep harping on this same thing no matter how many times it gets explained to you.  It's a really simple concept.  The way you want to do it would create a ton of problems with people trying to claim coins they don't own, people claiming winning tickets for coins they've previously sold, new owners wondering why the previous owner claimed their winnings, people wanting us to resolve conflicts between multiple parties claiming they all own the same coin, etc...  I'm not messing with any of that.  I would suggest for you to start doing your own giveaways and you can do them any poorly thought out way you want.

Edit: Bold added in the hopes it gets through to you finally.

I "harp" on it because it makes no sense and no valid explanation has been provided. All your answers make the assumption that I know/understand how it all works - you never take the time to explain anything. You just tell me it has already been explained and for me to go read back thru a 200 page thread to find the answer.

You say you can verify who owns an online seat but cannot verify who owns a minted seat. If the seat owner registers their seat, then it should be verifiable. What is the difference? Are you using the private keys to track ownership of the online seat owners? Is the only way an online seat can be transferred between owners is thru the nastyfans auction? no other way to sell/transfer?

If so - then I can somewhat see what you are saying but then also say that is easy to resolve.

As for the new owners complaining that the old owners claimed their winnings - wouldn't the new owner have registered their seat? and thus the old owner could not claim anything? If they don't register then they lose anyways. People transfer ownership of things every day. This really would be no different.

To resolve it would indeed require more work - and from what you say you don't want that additional work. Fair enough.

Also - I do many giveaways - so no need to be passive aggressive with your assumption that all other giveaways than yours are "poorly thought out"

Seeing as you wont answer clearly - I wont ask again (in all seriousness, I asked repeatedly because I thought maybe you were slow and could not understand the questions).

You can consider the questions above to be rhetorical (that means they don't need to be answered).

The latest auction for coins won by the Minted Seat Collective group is now live and you can bid on those coins here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5343798.0

The auction was started at 1/2 retail price and I’ve bid on them all to make sure they are sold. This auction will benefit Minted Seat owners so if you’ve wanted to expand your collection then this is a great time to do so. Good luck to everyone and as always, thanks for your continued support.

A reminder to make sure to log in to your nastyfans.org account and claim any coins you may have won. It is extremely important that this happens to avoid having to auction off unclaimed coins. I’d hate to think there are members out there who won’t be receiving their prize because they didn’t claim it. Spread the word to any possible NastyFans you may know to check their account.

Hi!

OgNasty, how do you see the recent developments around to huge amount of Chinese hashpower quitting and selling their gear?

Do you see this as a buying opportunity for Nastyfans to get some mining equipment?

Cheers!

Cheers!

There’s a huge amount of gear going offline and coming online again. Most of the operations are relocating or selling massive amounts of gear to large entities, so I think the opportunity will be limited to miners getting a couple weeks of low difficult rewards.

With BTC prices having dropped nearly 50% so quickly, I’d personally rather be a seller than a buyer of anything priced in USD right now.

I also don’t think we’ve dabbled in used equipment before and with the rate of failure we’ve seen in new equipment, buying used stuff now seems like a risk as you’d likely get the stuff the big companies thought was in too bad of shape to sell to their large partners.

With the difficulty adjusting downward by so much, it will appear that miners will yield more than what they would if some percentage of the miners being taken offline are brought back online. A higher yield means that the miners would appear to be worth more.

If you think much of the miners will be brought back online, it would be a time to sell existing miners. If you think the miners will mostly stay offline, it would be advantageous to keep existing hardware.

I don’t think an excess supply of miners will affect their prices compared to their potential for revenue once the market is cleared of excess supply.

It is 4 July and some winners did not claim their prize. I sent email and private message but still no claim.

Now the lottery results and claim form is removed from nastyfans.org. OgNasty will make another auction for unclaimed prizes. All proceeds from the auction are regular donation to nastyfans for following distribution payout.

The OgNasty auction will be:
  • 11x 1oz minted seat coins
  • 3x 2oz minted seat coins
  • 1x 5oz minted seat coin

OgNasty will post here when auction thread is open.

OgNasty, how do you see the recent developments around to huge amount of Chinese hashpower quitting and selling their gear?

Do you see this as a buying opportunity for Nastyfans to get some mining equipment?

Thanks for your reply!
Those sound like reasonable considerations.

NastyMining will buy back any amount of seats for 0.0005 BTC per seat and will extend this offer for the next several months.

Reminder that NastyMining is willing to purchase up to 15 BTC of NastyFans seats for 0.0005 BTC per seat. All you need to do is list your seats on the auction at https://nastyfans.org and drop me a PM to let me know once you have done so. I hope this helps ease concerns about the inability to place buy orders on the auction resulting in a perceived lack of liquidity.

I would like to know what the future plans are for the organization I see that not much has been said lately.

It’s a community organization. Nothing will happen unless people make it happen… As for my part, I recently purchased over $10K worth of Minted Seats to give away, am running an ASIC miner and a GPU miner for the club, and will continue to offer my goods for sale with donations being sent to NastyFans. There is also the buyback offer for those who don’t want to help participate in the growth of NastyFans which acts as a liquidity pairing to the auction. I’ve talked to TheAnalogKid about getting a Lightning node going so we can start to mess around with that, and there’s almost always daily discussion about NFTs, DeFi, & Altcoin opportunities in our Slack group, but fans have historically been against wading into those waters.

If there’s anything I can do to help anyone in relation to NastyFans with getting something going, I’ll always try and do my best so feel free to reach out and if you’d like more regular discussion with other NastyFans then send me your email address and I can invite you to the group.

For some reason OgNasty is too shy to post his newest fantasy ROI calculation here, so I'm gonna help him out. You will all be very happy to learn that your NastFans investments appreciated > 1000-fold.

1000$, invested 10 years ago in various assets:

https://c.radikal.ru/c41/2108/6b/8b6e433cae56.png

Those who claim that it is better to invest in gold than in bitcoin will be especially pleasantly surprised. Grin

Very interesting image.  Thanks for posting as it shows just how even the best of investment opportunities in the world appears to be trash next to Bitcoin!  It made me do a little calculating and see what the value of $1,000 would be if it were invested in the NastyMining IPO back in June of 2012.  The result, $1,000 invested in NastyMining would be worth $20,136.36 today.  Additionally, you would have received $1,331,098.23 in BTC distributions at their current value.  That makes a current total of $1,351,234.59 gained from a $1,000 investment in NastyMining (now NastyFans.org) in less than a decade if you never sold or spent your distributions.

Even with turning $1,000 into $1,351,234.59 over the last decade, there are still users who complain and have even left me negative trust for speaking this factual information.  Let that be a lesson to you...  Don't judge your success by what you hear from the peanut gallery.  The more amazing your accomplishments, the more hate you will receive from those watching from the sidelines.  That's just how miserable people react to the success of others.

That BTC return in a decade is amazing no doubt.

EDIT: Oops, this data doesn't include the BTC distributions that went out before GLBSE was closed...  I'll have to locate that and update this post as the real return will be significantly higher with that data included.

For anyone who remembers the Mining Pools book photoshoot that was done, or the bitpics that used some of those images, you might be excited to know that all the images have been minted as NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain.  They are available for purchase on opensea.io but more importantly that makes them now available to be viewed for free by anyone who is interested in seeing the images which feature our Minted Seats coins.  If you currently own a bitpic, please reach out to me.
