could you suggest me a suitable configuration please?

Here's what I run on my SP20:

Start Voltage:    0.63 / 0.63 / 0.63 / 0.63
Max Voltage:     0.69
Max Watts        160 / 140 / 160 / 140

The result is 1167 GH/s, and all ASICs less than 95C. Power draw at the wall is very close to 600W.

Soooo here my experience with the RMA.

First, if you don't run your machine in a perfect condition (Not like me cracking a window so the intake got fresh air), you might want to think 2 time before sending your machine back. BTW, my other machine was next to this one and it's still run rock solid. (1654gh) So I guess that was a bit of bad luck ...

So as I was using my SP20E close to a cracked windows they found some corrosion near a capacitor. Also dust (because I didn't want to open it to void the warranty) and it's not under warranty because of the corrosion. Both ASIC 0 and 4 on each blade (which are the first one next to intake) are in bad shape.

Asking 200$ (105$ shipping and 95$ for the diagnose) for the exact same machine.

Asking 250$ per board to replace them plus the 200$ us.

Sooooo next time you run one of those close to a windows. You should keep it home I guess. Open it yourself, have a look or find a electronic specialist to have a look. It will save you time and you machine.

If I knew, I would simply disable the Asic and keep like this ...

but now for 200$ us ?

Not even sure it worth to get it back ...

you are drawing  24c/75f    air in which is not bad for intake

you are pushing 77c/171f air out which is high , but you are pushing the gear at 1555gh.

what will you do for cooling this gear in the summer heat?

once your intake gets to 32c in the summer you will not be able to run at 1555gh.

i have an AC running 24*7 at 2 ft from the miners so they are always getting cooled air right into them..

i live in Venezuela so we always are at 32c xD

do u think i can improve that configuration ?

I would think you could.  With the SP20's I have never had heat issues.  Worst miner I had was a SilverFish 28 Scrypt miner first gen longer I had it more issues.  I had to eventually keep a AC near it or performance would drop.

The ambient for sp 20's should be "0 °C to 35 °C".  So your very very close to top end.  But I'm guessing you could do more with moving air and exhust out.  AC just is a little expensive to run for miners.

Yes.. But i live in Venezuela.. If i let the AC on 24*7 and the minera running at the configuration i just show u.. Is like $3 per month in electricity

Hi HerbPean,

We're very sorry to hear you are unhappy with the service you are getting.

The unit at hand has experienced massive corrosion as can be seen in the images below:

These are just a few examples, there's extensive rust and corrosion damage across the boards. This damage can only be caused by exposure to either extreme low temperatures, very high humidity, or both.

The unit has been damaged so badly it can only be fixed by replacing the boards.

We take pride of the quality of our units and service yet even our units have their limit, just like any other electronic device.

Our customer service has RMA several units as I'm sure the forum members can verify, however we cannot cover damages that are caused by improper maintenance.

Our team will continue to work with you as best they can to help you out and will be happy to continue doing so in the future.

Regards,

Gadi

And point goes to spondoolie! Nicely done.

As for these, Iw as thinking of running them outside in a small garage, i'm not so concerned voer humidity, but I am on the dust, was worried a filter would clog.

figured maybe window screen would catch enough to keep it safe and be quick and easy to clean.

It'll get warm here int he summer and be time to dial these babies way back or run AC. and the rewards not worth the AC Sad

Guys, not trying to say that my SP20E should be under warranty. I understand that corrosion/rust is the problem and it's ALL MY FAULT.

As for the service. Barbara has been epic as well as the Technician been in touch with me with the simple test we made at home.

At the end, I can either have my machine back for 200$ us or 700$ for a brand new.

We all know option 2 is not really an option.

That is what I find bad about my experience.

As for the quality of your product. I have nothing to say wrong about it.

EDIT: BTW my unit has still 6 ASIC over 8 working fine ... 1 dead and 1 failing.

So, I want to "cash in" on the current Westhash insanity. My limited understanding is that I need cgminer 4.8.0 in order get the "extra nonce" issue resolved on the SP20. I have installed the 2.6.14 software from Spondoolies, and I am happily hashing away on Slush.

How do I go about setting up cgminer 4.8.0 on my SP20, and can I just leave it place of 4.7.0 once I get there? Forgive me if this already answered in a different thread.

Look over at this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=893133.msg11065808#msg11065808

Between the two comments I was able to get it working perfect after reboot.

Thanks for all the help and guidance. There are two basic keys to getting the 4.8.0 version of cgminer.

1) You need to set the "Extra Flag" to 2. This isn't real obvious, but kinda suggested.

2) The you need to REBOOT the SP20, not just restart the miner. This is crucial and completely non-obvious, at least to me.

After that you, you can start fiddling with all the other pool and "Extra Nonce" nonsense (pun intended).

Again, many thanks to those that have been down this road!!!

Is there a way to program the firmware that way, that you can insert a goal Hahsrate and the miner adjusts itself to it?

So.. I moved my Spondoolies

I boot up 6, 3 come online
3 blink yellow twice. one of the 3 eventually came online.
The other two eventually move to blinking green. than eventually rapid blink between yellow and green.

No idea what they are doing? All I can find is that two yellow means IP found?

They are on a switch, on a 100ft cat5 cable. 3 came on. 4 tops. I can't possibly imagine I'm overloading the line.

Help please?

Do you have any kind of network wire tester?  I use them on mine to check if line is bad.

I have ran a 50ft cable with no issue on bitcoin mining.  Have not tried 100ft myself but as long as wire is ok I can't think it should have a issue.
