It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Generally how quickly are wire transfers processed? Also, how do you know who the source of the wire is? That is, if I have a username "btctxns" and I submit for a 100USD wire, I simply get a page detailing your account number with a receipt. How do you know, once you receive the 100USD via  a wire transfer, that you have received it from "btctxns?" What if there were 4 others with a 100USD order? This way of processing deposits seems strange. I'm not sure why you can't simply integrate the various APIs of the respective banks, or simply ask for a routing+account number from my bank so deposits can be processed instantly. I'd love it if you could explain this thoroughly and understandably.

I'm not too partial about sending hundreds of dollars via wire transfer to a random bank in the Carribean in the first place, especially since no one seems to want to provide any real feedback on bit-x.com. It was my understanding this was a review thread, yet I'm seeing very little if any actual reviews. There is a separate thread for the debit card discussions.

I'll do my best to answer your questions.

Generally how quickly are wire transfers processed?

This is found in the 'deposit funds' window once you select a fiat currency:
Quote
The deposit will be transferred to your wallet within 1-5 business days from the moment of sending.

Also, how do you know who the source of the wire is? That is, if I have a username "btctxns" and I submit for a 100USD wire, I simply get a page detailing your account number with a receipt. Good question! As with my response above the following can be found once a payment is requested (I did so myself with 100 USD).
Quote
Details of Payment: To account number [Bit-X USER ID]
"To account number [BIT-X USER ID]" must be entered by the funder (you) when you transfer funds. Additionally, Bit-X only accepts bank transfers from senders that have the same name as in their account (the name from verification).

It was my understanding this was a review thread, yet I'm seeing very little if any actual reviews. There is a separate thread for the debit card discussions.

Hesitance is understandable in the world of Bitcoin. This part of the deposit process is the fiat side of Bitcoin exchanges (the need to trust actual banks). Hermes Bank Limited (https://www.hermesbankonline.com) isn't unknown but it's up to make a decision based on your research. I can ensure, however,] that any fiat deposits (all deposits for that matter) will be credited to your account within the time frame stated (unless you encounter problems on your behalf).

This thread is an announcement thread for the entire site. People are free to post (or not post) their feedback, issues (which Bit-X will resolve as soon as possible!) and reviews. There are several in previous pages.

Hope that helped! If you have any more questions, please do ask. Smiley

Is this really a good service?
Can I trust this?
The service is very expensive and probably not worth it! I'm from Portugal, is there anyone here who has been using BIT-X in Portugal?

I use Bit-X as my main exchange platform, so personally I trust it.

What makes you say the service is expensive? Currently, trading fees are at 0% (until September!). The 0.5% withdrawal fee is being reduced soon.

the mining fee is expensive (659 satoshi per Ghs) that around 65% of the reward. But it's decrasing, a few weeks ago it was 693 satoshi.

Other serious cloud mining website have likely same fee (genesis-mining $0.0015 per Ghs, megamine $1.64 per Ths), or the price "all inclusiv" is not cheap (bit-miner $9 per Ghs).

The reason it seems high at the moment is because the mining fee is pegged to USD (electricity and maintenance fees are paid with fiat by Bit-X as you'd expect). As the exchange rate increases (hopefully), this fee (in BTC) will decrease. Smiley

Which Bitcoin client is BIT-X using? If it is Bitcoin Core(which I think it is), which version?

Is bit-x's wallet affected by the recent events?

You mean "SPV mining" event?

Would it be possible for you to add Skrill as withdraw option ?
If you are having problems/doubt regarding chargebacks, maybe you could limit the option to certain older users, or only ID verified.

I'm really hoping we can see Skrill added, atleast as a withdraw option.

cheers

I'll do my best to answer your questions.

Generally how quickly are wire transfers processed?

This is found in the 'deposit funds' window once you select a fiat currency:
Quote
The deposit will be transferred to your wallet within 1-5 business days from the moment of sending.

Also, how do you know who the source of the wire is? That is, if I have a username "btctxns" and I submit for a 100USD wire, I simply get a page detailing your account number with a receipt.

Smiley

I'd like to ask if I can receive money from a 3th person to my bit-x account?? If I give to a friend or my boss this info for deposit or transfer to this bank account and writing my bit-x user ID, I'll get my euros in my bit-x account?Huh
Or I need to be the person who deposit the money in my own bank account?
