I hope this is in the right place, but I can't get the 'Add posted-to topics to watchlist' and 'Add notify-enabled topics to watchlist' functions or the watch/notify options to save.
Any ideas?
tia.

https://bitcointalk.org/watchlist.php

Here are the options you can change in your watchlist. Or what do you mean?

Thanks, I knew that  Smiley

What I'm saying is that I can't get notifications of posts, the watch function doesn't work for me and nothing adds to my watchlist.

I also can't get rid of no longer wanted subjects from "Show new replies to your posts".

Ahhh, I have the same problem. I have the watchlist but I get no notifications. Maybe write a PM to theymos to solve this problem.

You don't get email/PM notifications for watchlist topics. That's what the separate "notify" feature is for. All that adding a topic to your watchlist does is add that topic to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=watchlist , which is exactly like "show new replies to your posts" except that it only shows topics on your watchlist.

OK, got the watchlist situation. How does the "notify" feature notify me?
And how can I drop a post that I am no longer interested in from the "show new replies to your posts" area?

Thanks.

How does the "notify" feature notify me?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;sa=notification

You currently have notifications enabled on three topics, listed there. You will receive an email for the first new post in those topics. You need to visit the topic and read the new posts before you will receive additional emails. If you're not receiving emails, then they're being blocked/spammed by your email provider.

And how can I drop a post that I am no longer interested in from the "show new replies to your posts" area?

You can't, and there's no reason to do so. By default, the watchlist page is exactly the same as "show new replies to your posts" except that you can unwatch topics that you don't want to see.

OK got it.
I'm probably unusual in as far as I don't always have email connected when I'm surfing, it would maybe be more logical to have a notification system within the website rather than by e mail?

Thanks for your time.
