The ind.ie project ( https://ind.ie/ ) is building an encrypted P2P ergonomic social network and file sharing platform. This is a very ambitious project that should appeal to many privacy concerned bitcoin users. They are now raising funds in order to develop their platform and accept bitcoins as of today.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

I don't think the  video  is  much  an issue. It  matches pretty  well  with  their general intent : bring private information sharing to the masses in a convenient and beautiful way.

Many people are intimidated by cryptography and generally speaking privacy and censorship resilient technology because they look complicated and are not ergonomic. They want to fix that.

I'm surprised they hadn't accepted Bitcoin donations earlier. I tried out a fork of the software on ArkOS the other day and I have to say, it's a little weird. This project does have a bright future though.

Yes, it's a pity they didn't accept bitcoins since the first day. Pulse isn't their end goal, though. It will be the foundation of what they are building now, heartbeat, which is supposed to be a decentralised social network that will allow people to share things privately and bilaterally. The alpha for mac will be released on the 10th of December according to their roadmap. I really want them to succeed because easy and appealing encrypted and censorship resilient communication protocols is what the world needs right now. Bitmessage, GPG, freenet, etc, only find a limited audience because many people consider these applications as intimidating or poorly designed. Ind.ie is all about fixing that and I think it is worth supporting.
