There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

we all would be better to trust coinbase, both are 1% cost, but compared to the rebellious price on localbitcoins which usually more 20%~80% expensive than the market.  Angry

In fact, very little charged by exchange. Bank wire would be charged by bank, any third pay would be charged by exchanges and payments, this is a fairly large cost.

This occurs on localbitcoins is not surprising. it is not a real exchange but a p2p market.
