Whats the RPC ports for connectivity? I can only find conf settings from the Scrypt-N days...

I feel like solo mining .

This might be helpful: http://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/comments/2ucq4o/lyra2re_solo_mining_rejects/

Why prick? He's generally been very helpful anytime I've seen people ask questions, regarding anything from setting up a miner software to writing opencl code. He also seems to be generally polite and genial. Just curious where the hate for him is arising from...

I don't like the fact that he keeps these "elite" kernels for himself. If Satoshi had been that selfish, none of us would be here today.

Guess who's got a lot of Bitcoins? Much more than all of us together? Satoshi himself, of course. But we love him.
So why do you blame wolf0? Because he wants to get a few Bitcoins by mining with a faster kernel he wrote?

In my opinion, it isn't in the spirit of crypto to have closed-source things. That is the difference between Satoshi and this wolf idiot.

I'm with you on opensource, but how do you know that satoshi doesn't/didn't have his own miner or something? Most opensource developers also have commercial projects. Everybody wants to make money ;-)

Just to be fair, he is responsible for the fastest open source cryptonight cpu miner, and I think the fastest open source neoscrypt kernel for sgminer, so it's not like he's contributed nothing. He's also pretty much just a kid, and I think a bit disappointed in how much users will donate to open source tech, so I don't begrudge him possibly keeping some code to himself/paying customers.

I still prefer open source because you can check there are no backdoors in the code.

People don't donate, that's a fact (I have 20 years of experience).
That's why opensource developers, like myself, work on "commercial" projects alongside free ones. Nobody should scream, that's life :-D

I personaly would like talented people (such as yourself I assume) to be spending there time working on open source software for the benefit of everybody and still be able to make a living. It's a shame that people don't see the value in what open source delivers.
