Better to keep spending and promote Bitcoin then to hold and hope to be rich

I'm not sure this is true...if people held then there would be less for people to buy, pushing up price.  But I understand your point about increasing its popularity by using it.

Then again, if everyone holds and no one's spending, merchants won't bother with accepting BTC, adoption rate will start to drop along with the value.

It's all about finding the right balance.

Best way is to take QA's advise:

Just buy btc to replace what you spent. I bought a lot of presents with btc. With Overstock and Gyft there really is no reason to not use btc for Christmas. Gyft is offering 3% back for Bitcoin purchases right now.

Spend and buy back. With 3% back, it's a good deal.

Was having a tough time deciding which gift card I wanted on eGifter, but I selected a $148.82 Amazon.com card. Nice workaround for the fact that Amazon doesn't accept Bitcoin yet and of course I got triple points from eGifter for doing that. Don't worry guys; I'm not giving up on Bitcoin. I'm just handling a few changes in my life that warranted the purchase of a gift card.

Hardly anyone speaks English on this forum.

I bought my dad's Christmas present with bitcoins on Amazon through purse.io

Slingbox on Amazon: $133

Price paid with Bitcoin: $104

Not needing to bother with fiat: Priceless.

There are some things money can buy. But if you want to buy it cheaper there's Bitcoin.

Something like this...

I dont think it matters as long as you get your products later.

I have used Purse a few times now without any problems. My sister has used it a few times as well. I had tried the other one... Brawker a couple of times and both times testing it out on a Macys purchase and also an eBay purchase and while they both worked out fine, the buyer on both different orders acted strange to me, wanting me to release funds early, release partial funds, etc. Weird stuff and not needed as their BTC price was locked in. Never say never but I doubt I will touch Brawker again.

Cardforcoin will be accepting Amazon gift cards direct to BTC soon... https://cardforcoin.com

Otherwise you can make a deal with a trusted person or use a site like Raise (best of the card 4 cash services IMO) to convert to fiat and then go buy some bitcoin...

When it comes to gift cards and Bitcoin, I can only think of this one for some reason:

http://www.gyft.com/bitcoin/

They just seem to get it.  Make it as easy as possible that a dummy can do it...

There are many ways people get Amazon points / coupons / discounts. They can easily turn that into bitcoins.

Also, for some people internationally there are very few ways to get bitcoins. I know here in Germany some people on localbitcoins ask for around 20% above price. I put my price at 10% and had people driving hours to buy at such a "low" price.

First seastead company actually selling sea homes: Ocean Builders https://ocean.builders  Of course we accept bitcoin.
