I hope you do realize that designers need the datasheet and sample chips multiple weeks before any bulk purchase of chips can occur.
"Hi Ben, yes we know that. We will soon update the product page on the website with information/new chip specifications, so please stay tuned. Once again, thank you for your inquiry. Best regards, BitFury"

Miners are no longer simple devices as they used to be. These days, electrical and physical design and construction may take months. Modern miner is a piece of art and a result of hard work of engineering teams. Because of its complexity and high power consumption mining equipment today requires a lot of technical support and oversight. We do not sell our chips to consumers, hence no datamaps, protocols descriptions or sample chips of our 28 nm ASIC will be available.

Is this the best you can do, tell us that we're incapable of designing an electronic device with Bitfury chips ? I dare you, I know for sure there are multiple designer teams that can design a miner with the new Bitfury chips within a month. That is, with proper documentation and sample chips. Don't get me wrong, I can understand more or less that Bitfury is not willing to sell their chips, because that will make the piece of the BTC pie that Bitfury will mine smaller, but I am sure Bitfury (and the shareholders) will appreciate the profit coming out of selling chips.

What is the relationship between BitFury and Ghash, BitFury and CEX.IO?
Cex.io is a sub-project of Ghash, as indicated on their web page https://ghash.ioGhash is a former customer that used to buy BitFury miners for its own usage and for Cex.io. Cex.io has also used a lot of miners from other manufacturers.

Are you saying CEX actually mine with their own equipment?

Would you be selling chips to developers looking to design their own devices?

Ghash belong to BitFury? or Ghash once belonged to BitFury, Why separated?
Ghash is a separate company from the very beginning. BitFury has never owned any part of it.

Would you be selling chips to developers looking to design their own devices?
We do not plan on selling our chips to consumers (...lengtht stuff cut...) I did not ask as a end customer. I asked as a potential hardware designer, developer and equipment manufacturer (OEM). And yes, I did read the lengthy piece in the very beginning. Including this: Miners are no longer simple devices as they used to be. They actually never have been. It's been trough developers and OEMs who convert the complicated design into an easy to use one. and this: These days, electrical and physical design and construction may take months.Modern miner is a piece of art and a result of hard work of engineering teams. I know. I've done it before. And I paid the entire bill. And I know it's a lot of hard work. And I know it's a piece of art. And I might still be interested in doing it again. and this too: (...)mining equipment today requires a lot of technical support and oversight. And I can assure you that there are people quite capable of designing a very complicated equipment and providing the technical support and oversight. So - even if people who have more than proven that they know how to handle chips and designs - would it be possible for such specialists to be permitted access to your chips? And presuming they're okay with taking all the risks - would you let any other (than your) designs see the light?

And presuming they're okay with taking all the risks - would you let any other (than your) designs see the light? We don't doubt your experience as a hardware designer. We're more concerned about ROI for anyone (especially unexperienced new miners) entering the mining market now, and the negative effect that a failure to achieve ROI might have on our reputation, as the products would still be using our chip. Considering they are often marketed with unrealistic ROI to customers, it is a legitimate concern. This is one of the reasons why we currently don't have a plan to cell our chips to other companies/designers. Should our position change, we will announce it here and make data sheet, specifications and possibly also a reference design available for 3rd party designers and OEM manufacturers. As always, we are grateful for your interest in our products and our company!

I hope you do I know for sure of at least a few other developers who would also be interested in your chips. Your previous ones were among the best and I suspect your newer ones won't be any different. If you do change your position please add me to your notification list. And thanks for the detailed answer!
